Leftovers.....

Redbedhead, 26 December, 2008 at 15:14 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 15

.....so what is everyone doing with their food leftovers? We have quite a bit of turkey and beef left. We are planning sandwiches tonight and I would like to cook something with the rest of the food (not necessarily all of it in one dish) tomorrow.

Any inspiration?

Have a google for Jamie Oliver's Christmas recipes - the ones from his channel 4 program recently, if you didn't see it. He had some great recipes for a crispy turkey salad and a turkey and leek pie.

Beef needs to be crisped up with some bacon and eaten in a sandwich, yum!

RBH we have turkey, ham stuffing and lots of party food left over. We're having a big fat pj/eating day today (once i'm finished hitching!).

What sort of food do you have left? Can we help you out? lol

Am liking the look of the turkey and leek pie.

Evy - we have turkey and beef left. All ham got eaten as did most veg.

The year we had Turkey my favourite leftover meal was definitely a creamy turkey pie.

This year I'm looking for something to do with leftover duck.

We did the Jamie crispy oriental turkey salad today and it was incredible. Absolutely gorgeous. I'm considering doing it again tomorrow it was so good.

Tonight we had lobster and to go with I mashed up the leftover roasted veg and sprouts, mixed them with egg, made patties and dry fried them (like bubble and squeak) - that was really good too.

Well, the beef is currently simmering away as a beef and ale stew. The turkey will be used for a curry and also the turkey and leek pie.

I don't have many leftovers as was at my parents for Christmas day. However, I did come back loaded down with some turkey and pork. The turkey I'm going to use in Jamies turkey and leek pie. No ideas for the pork yet. We did have sandwiches with it last night but its going to take a while to use that way!
