Length of veil, I'm confused!!

cw2b, 18 June, 2014 at 18:24 Posted on Planning 0 3

I want it order a cathedral length veil but I'm a bit confused with the length!

The one I tried in in the shop was a single tier and the girl said it was 144".

I am going to buy online as it is so much cheaper but I'm confused as their single tier, cathedral length is 114" but their two tier cathedral length is 114" + 30" which totals 144". I'm assuming the additional 30" on the two tier is the blusher and that both veils will end at the same point/length?

I have emailed the company but they didn't really explain but it looks like the right length in the picture.

Can anyone (if I haven't confused you!) help?

    Hi,

I have looked at veils a lot and yes the second figure is the length of the second tier so it will be 114" overall.

What Gem said - the +30 figure is the blusher layer.

I actually make wedding veils and you will find that the wedding shops tend to advertise their veils as one continuous length. So a 2 tier Cathedral length 30" (top tier) 114" (bottom tier), will be added together as one combined length which will be your 144" length.

I dont know why the wedding shops do this as its so much easier for a bride to know the tier measurements separately. I always state mine as 2 individual tier lengths and at least then a bride will know exactly where the top tier is going to finish as well as the bottom.

    Hope this helps.
