    I put heat to the end of ribbon to seal it ?

    For anyone using ribbon, satin or otherwise, don't use anything liquid to seal the ends - it looks rubbish even the professional stuff 'fray stop'. (Trust me, I'm a stationer!)

    Just flash a lighter flame across the cut ribbon, and even if you have a bit of a fray going on this will burn back to the cut edge, but better still use very sharp scissors. But a lighter flame (not a candle or match) will give you a nice sealed finish.
