Some of the dresses on their website look really good! Great value for money and styles are nice too. Though I don't know anyone who has used them...would be good to hear from anyone who has!

I'm in two minds about this site too. I think it's based in China and so not sure about import fees etc nor about the true quality of things. I guess it depends on what it is you want.

If you do use them, let me know how you get on!

I found some reviews on https://www.resellerratings.com/store/Light_In_The_Box, of what I can see there seems to be quite a lot of hidden charges. Handle with care I think girls! I, unfortunately, won't ever trust Chinese import dresses again.

I got my wedding shoes from there. The shoes themselves were £40 plus P&P and then a surprise £22 bill for the import tax. They ended up costing me £70 which I probably wouldn't have spent on shoes. The quality is OKAY but I know that for the same price I could have got something better quality. Mine are lace and there is a bit of fraying in places and the ribbon ties are also slightly frayed at the edges. Nothing I can't sort out and disguise but for that price you don't expect it. I wouldn't be desperate to recommend.

Sandy - are you recently engaged??? I thought there was Leapyear chat about you proposing or have I got that totally wrong???

I dont understand why everyone thinks import tax is a hidden charge or suprise. Anything and everything you buy from outside the EU is subject to import tax and duty and isnt anything to do with whoever you purchase from...

Re. Light in a box, they have some gorgeous dresses but I personally want to be able to have my bridesmaids try them on before i buy. Their reviews look ok though compared with a lot of other companies!

I was talking to my friend last night who ordered her bm dresses off light in the box and she couldnt recommend them highly enough. She said the quality is great and inputting custom measurements were really easy and they all fit her bm's perfectly!

I'm thinking of possibly ordering one cos I have enough time and see what it's like. Then if I don't like it i haven't lost a much

    Hope this helps

Having never bought anything from outside the EU before it WAS a surprise to me and there had not been any warning to expect this from the company either. I didn't blame Light in the Box incidentally and I appreciate this was a lack of knowledge/experience on my part but it was a surprise none the less!

I'm with Mrs D Soon To Be. I think we have the sae shoes!! The ribbon is also different to the ribbon pictured. I'm not dissatisfied with them but I too probably wouldn't have got them if I thought I'd be charged £20 extra.

This! It's clearly stated in their website information pages!

I am getting my BM dresses from them, not placing the order till the summer so we get get accurate sizing but I did order a swatch which is brilliant. Found their customer services really helpful too, I got in touch before ordering my swatch to ask a few questions. They marked the box as gift so I didn't have customs charges on it - but you have to calculate that into your budget so it's a bonus if you don't have to pay it.

Also clearly read their guidelines about sizing, make sure you check measurements against their size chart and also allow enough time for dresses to be made and delivered so not stressing about whether they arrive on time.
