Lillibrook Manor - Maidenhead.......Advice from people who got married here please :-)

punchbowl, 26 April, 2013 at 16:34 Posted on Planning 0 2

We have just placed our deposit with the gorgeous Lillibrok Manor in Maidenhead for a June 2014 wedding.

I am struggling to decide on what to do about catering, can anyone help? We are going for a fete style theme and want to be informal....so i was thinking BBQ or Hog Roast.....has anyone used this option at LIllibrook before?

Also, we are having the ceremony AND reception at Lillibrook.......can anyone tell me what timetable they had for their day please? I dont want to start too early and incur lots of food costs....although I dont want to start too late either as I want guests to enjoy the bouncy castle and garden games etc.

Lastly....if anyone has ANY advice for my day at Lillibrook please shout :-)

THANK YOU!

We looked at Lillibrooke, it was just pipped to the post by the venue we eventually chose.

I think a BBQ hog roast would be really nice and would work fine...you could use the engine room for salads and bits

When we looked round, there was a really early ceremony (midday). You might not want something that early, but you could do

    Ceremony 2pm, H

Have drinks and nibbles from 2.30pm to 4.30pm (maybe with canapes/nibbles),

BBQ at 4.30pm - 6.30pm (depending if you're having speeches etc)

Evening guests to arrive at 7pm perhaps.

Then maybe do a light buffet (cheese and crackers etc) in the evening?

    HI,

We looked at Lillibrooke at the weekend and its top of our list at the moment Smiley smile I absolutely fell in love with it but we're not sure on the catering at the mo'

Can't add anything more sadly but I also loved how flexible they seem to be with all the arrangements... the first people who haven't sniffed in horror at the idea of having an ice cream van rock up.... haha.

Choose something informal for your catering is definitely the right way to go. We cater at far too many weddings where guests have literally only just had a hefty three course meal before we arrive. Something a little different and quirky that you know everyone will enjoy. You don't have to break the bank with food costs. Keep it simple :-)
