Literary couples for tables

July2014 bride, 23 February, 2014 at 07:52 Posted on Planning 0 15

Hi! I'm a big book lover and wanted to have literary couples instead of table numbers but I'm struggling to think of enough suitable for 10 tables. I am being a bit picky and only want those that I actually enjoyed the book of etc so that they all feel like they mean something. So far I have...

1. Daisy & Gatsy

2. Elizabeth & Darcy

3. Cathy & Heathcliff

4. Allie & Noah

5. Scarlett & Rhett

6. Bella & Edward

7. Bridget & Mark

There's also Jane Eyre & Mr Rochester but I really didn't enjoy Jane Eyre so feels wrong to include them! If anyone can think of any more I'd be very grateful, I seem to have looked on every link I can find on my Google search and I'm stuck!

What a lovely idea. How about:

Samuel Vimes and Sybil Ramkin (discworld)

Moist Von Lipwig and Adora Belle Dearheart (discworld)

    Katniss and Peeta (hunger games)

Anastasia and Christian (fifty shade of grey)

    Rebecca and Luke (shopaholic)

Daenerys and Drogo (game of thrones)

    Ron and Hermione (harry potter)

Not sure if they're of any help.

Ooh yes, I haven't read any of the Discworld books, but the others are brilliant thank you!

I might miss out 50 shades too ;-)

I can't help thinking that things don't turn out so well for lots of the couples mentioned! Not wanting to put a dampener on things but that is just what came to mind!

Yeah I just thought of that when thinking about Romeo & Juliet! But then things didn't turn out too well for a few others of mine... hmmm

Its hard to think of 10 literary couples that ended up happily ever after!

We are having a book theme and have gone for the names of books instead. The centrepieces are stacks of vintage books and the top book will be the book the table has been named after.

    Cosette and Marius (Les Miserables)

Wesley and Buttercup (The Princess Bride)

Lyra and Will (His Dark Materials)

Don't know if you've read any of them, but the first two have happy endings Smiley smile
