Little bit proud of myself :)

beckimas, 12 November, 2013 at 21:35 Posted on Planning 0 26

Hi, I have just finished making my day invitations and wanted to see what you all thought. They are all mismatch with 8 different papers which will also go with the RSVPs and other stationary like the order of services, table plan and numbers etc. I'm quite proud of them, hope you like them Smiley smile RSVPs to get on with next...

Thank you everyone!! Smiley smile they have been quite simple to do as well which has made them managable. I went for mismatch as our whole wedding is a bit like this...no set colour scheme, just pastel colours and bms in floral dresses. Jen lou I don't mind if you steal it haha Smiley smile thanks to you all for such nice comments and mooshy dont be silly, I'm sure yours are lovely too x

Juuuuuust a little thing for all to think about when sorting out your cards is that the thickness stays thin enough to still be sized as a letter, otherwise you could be looking at 90p each to post. I see yours may fall into the higher price once in the envolopes

These are really pretty, I love that you have used different backing papers on them. (I am an avid card maker)

These are beautiful!! Well done! Love the different papers!

Sorry to sort of hijack the thread a bit, but a quick question about the posting:

How do you know if they're too chunky? If you just posted then as normal what would happen?

    Thanks

Letter is 165mmx240mm x 5mm thick, the 5mm once you have a good thickness of card in a quality envelope you might ? only need an embellishment such as a bow and its the knot that takes it over 5mm. Also if you have something that sticks up and creates a "tent" effect in the envelope then that can be vulnerable to ripping. The next size up is a large letter at 353mm x 250mm x 25mm thick. I only know because sometimes I may comment on a table place name and the bride would tell me that the invites matched but cost a fortune to post as they were to thick to go standard letter and had to go large letter.

If any one of those measurements are over then its the next size up, I don't know how strict they are or if they can be as I would think that it is automated. And then on the other hand there must be some ley-way as I bet its more of a faff for them to process it for a over size charge. You can buy plastic size rulers that have the 5 and 25 mm cut-outs and all the sizes too google- Helix Pricing Proportion Ruler

Thats 90p you know for first class

Thanks very much for the postal info guys! Really helpful.

Luckily we only have a few to post the rest we can hand deliver so won't be too expensive. Thanks again and sorry for the thread hijack!
