We had a live band called Captain Caveman, I would recommend them to anyone. We got them through a company called Warble Entertainment, it's worth having a look on their website as they have hundreds of different acts to suit all tastes and budgets.

It depends what area you are based in the country as to recommendations. We are having a live band called the Deadbeats, based in Lancashire/ North West and they are costing us around £1,200 and include a DJ for between sets and after the band has finsihed playing. I would recommend you book a band well in advance, you tend to find all the good ones seem to get booked up months and months in advance!

We are having a band and a dj. The band will play two sets with the evening buffet food in-between, followed by the dj until 1am. The cost for both was £1300.

I can recommend The Suits. An amazing band that travels and entertains the masses up and down the UK every weekend, a band that keeps dance floors full all night long and one that also offers a DJ service amongst other special things.

    They're good!

Oh!!! hang on, that's my band,

    I'm biased sorry.

If you would like to send us an email we will happily send you a quote. If you like the price and we're free on your date then we would be happy to play for you and your guests, if not then you can use our quote as a benchmark, its up to you!

    Hey Sammy.

Where are you based? I also run a very popular wedding band covering all the biggest hits of the last 50 years as well as modern chart hits. I can provide you with an informative and competitive quote including professional DJ services to save having to book a DJ separately.

Here's a few unbiased general tips for booking a live band.

    • Where possible try and book a band that is relatively local to your venue. The further the band have to travel the more they will charge. When the distance is over 2 or 3 hours -most bands will want overnight accommodation and that will cost you at least an extra £150 or so depending on band size.

    • Find bands direct. Agents will always charge for their services and that will usually add about 22% onto the bands price. So if the band are usually £1000 they'll be £1220 when the agents fee is added on. It also means you can have all contact directly with the band not through a booking agent who will have to pass on information between the two parties.

    • See if the band can include a DJ. Many bands can DJ for you in the breaks between their performances, the extra charge is usually small and sometimes even free, although the service they provide will vary from band to band. This can often save you around £200 when compared to booking a dJ separately. They'll also take up a lot less space as there will only be one sound and lighting system se up.

    • An obvious one - Think of your guests tastes as well as your own - the best wedding receptions are the ones with the fullest dance floors and the happiest guests!

I hope that helps you make some decisions! Feel free to give me a shout if you need any help at all.

    Cheers.

    James.

    Hi,

We booked a band called The Spectrum. They are a Hitched supplier and they were fab! They are based in West midlands.

Really nice people and great band! They come with a dj too. Everyone loved them at our wedding.

    Good luck! x

Where abouts are you based? My band provides live music and then a DJ service for the breaks and after the band finishes to keep your guests dancing. Bands charge for travel, we cover the UK but you will get best value for counties nearest the M25. Also we dont charge agency fees as we are independent.

Hope to hear from you soon
