Living abroad - Where would you go?

Hi I go through stages of really wanting to pack everything up and move abroad. There are a lot of reasons why this would not be possible (leaving family) but on my selfish days I like to dream! If you could move abroad with no hassle, where would you go? Today I am thinking Amercia or Canada.

Australia - ideally Sydney or Melbourne. Although I think I may miss family too much, in which case, Italy. I love Venice but don't think I would want to live there so more likely to be Sorrento or Rome.

If someone said tomorrow that we could move to NYC, I'd be on the next plane. I love the place, we have friends there and feel really at home there. <sigh>

Failing that, France somewhere southerly or maybe South West near the Pyrenees.

We've discussed Canada too - Mr W's Dad was born there and has a Canadian passport.

SW France, by the sea, for at least a year.

I want to do it when my children are of school age, so they can learn french and have a different experience.

I have to work on my H on this one though.

I have got one month to go and I am moving to Southern Spain. we have family over there. My children (7 & 4) will be attending a spanish school. Its all very exciting but scarey at the same time.

Going to really miss my friends here and my mum massively.

I would live in a small whitewashed stone house in the hills just outside Pelekas in Corfu. There would be a steep path down to a small quiet beach and we would swim every morning, then eat grilled fish, salad and bread for lunch on the shady terrace overlooking the sea. In the afternoon we would read, write and sleep. We would have cats and a lemon tree. We would walk into the village in the evening to meet our friends for dinner, drinking and dancing.

I'm not sure what we would do for money. ?
