Liz Earle fans- Spa report

Hyacinth, 15 February, 2009 at 12:50 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 7

I went to the Liz Earle spa on sloane square yesterday and it was fabulous! I had a signature facial.

The place is very relaxing and calm- its underneath the shop, which is much bigger than their old shop. My facialist, Alex, went through the massive form I had to fill in before she started- and said some quite interesting things. I explained that I still get spots at 27. She said the areas I get spots in represent trauma in different parts of the body. the forehead is the liver and the chin is the reproductive area. I must look into this more, actually.

Then, she left me on my own to take off my clothes and- this is the best bit- get into bed. A beautiful, orthapedic, heated bed, with lovely fluffy duvets and crisp sheets.

The actual facial was as follows:

cleanse x2, steam, extraction (hurrah! sqeeze those buggers out!) a kind of micro demabrasion instrument, then a kind of cupping machine, used on your face neck and chest. whilst I was steaming she gave me an arm and hand massage, then at the end she put my mask on and gave me a neck, chest and scalp massage which was amazing.

The whole thing was wonderful, and afterwards i could barely move. I was so laid back I nearly got run over on the Pimlico Road walking home. My skin feels, looks and smells amazing.

I would highly recommend it. There was no sales element at all- I do already use Liz Earle but she didn't encourage me to buy anymore. It is pricey. But its not bad value for money- 90mins- However, I won't be having £85 facials regularly. I suspect this is due to its location- they do offer a cheaper facial at £65. Apart from those they only currently offer waxing (pretty competitively priced) or massage, but more treatments are on their way.

    That sounds heavenly.

I may have to find a way of treating myself, maybe as a reward when I get my exam result at the end of April!!!

I'm definitely a fan of duvet facials - if I don't get tucked in there is something missing

Very interested in the face mapping and breakouts representing trauma. If you do look into this and find any interesting sources, would you mind posting them? At 30 I began bizarre breakouts last year and depite a good regime / diet etc, I reckon I'm about a stones throw from seeing a dermatologist. Whilst it's not acne, it's just not 'me' if you know what I mean?!

    Thanks

Yes, absolutley. I think it makes perfect sense, I mean your body is a machien of sorts so if one part isn't working corerctly you quite often get referred pain/ symptoms. I suppose its like having a leaky pipe when its actually your boiler thats buggered.
