London pub needed for a venue - any ideas?

julesdurkin, 17 April, 2009 at 17:01 Posted on Planning 0 5

Hello there,

I am hoping for a London knees up / Chas n Dave style bash (hopefully in a chic cockney way!) I need ideas for West / Central London pubs preferrably with an outdoor space and a bit of a wow about them... all suggestions gratefully / lovingly received.

    Hi

The Queen mary is a pub on a boat by embankment if you were looking for something a bit unusual.

Can't personally recommend any but we did consider this sort of thing and I found this website a good starter for 10 on venue ideas:

We got married and had our party in a lovely pub in Islington - The North Star. They do great food and have a lovely garden and were really great to deal with! They've done quite a few wedding parties so you are in safe hands there.

We had booked the north star 9 months ago for our wedding at the end of april 2011. We have just been told that they have gone into administration so we have no wedding reception. Any help would be much appreciated in alternative (but similar) london pub venues.

Thats no good that your venue has gone into administration. I have no idea how it comapares but pub in the park, in Hackney, has a large decking area outside overlooking the park. Not sure if they do weddings or can hire out the whole place. Might not be that whow & weddingy, buts its certainly cockney! Someone mentioned some sort of venue/hall place in stoke newington, not a pub though. How many guests are you having?

Hi, I went to a wedding at Punch on Fleet St and the bride said the venue hire was free provided they spent £500 behind the bar. Was a lovely traditional pub. Actual ceremony had been in Islington Town Hall beforehand.
