Long rectangular tables

rachandnath, 7 March, 2011 at 16:21 Posted on Planning 0 6

Hi everyone! Has anyone got any ideas on how to decorate long, rectangular tables? I really wanted to have round tables at my wedding reception, but the venue we are using provides long rectangular tables so I'm trying to figure out the best way to place the tables and how to decorate them to look nice. We're having flowers on each table and I'd like tall vases but my florist says this is a no no on long tables??!?! Please help! My wedding is in 6 weeks!!!!!!

We are having one long rectangular table with a runner and loads of jam jars down the centre filled with flowers and candles. Could work on smaller tables too

We have long rectangular tables with 10 people on and we've gone for a similar idea. We're going to have one larger arrangement in the centre and then a smaller jam jar arrangement on each side like so.... [ x X x ] Our florist is a star and is only charging a £5 for each jam jar arrangement if we provide the jars!

As jules says tall vases would be too unstable on a narrow table. You would be better having low arrangements and placed along the table Like thses examples:
