lost for words.........[:@] [banghead]

HillierB2B, 8 June, 2009 at 10:08 Posted on Planning 0 77

i was up at my usual 5:30am getting everything ready for the day, then at 6am i heard my letterbox chap so went to the door to find a card on the floor.............

a card from my cousin who got married on sat (yes sat PAST) but due to mr hillier being away and her strict 'no kids or small ppl' rule - i couldnt go.

i knew it was her writing so i thought it was a thank you card for the £50 vouchers for John Lewis which she asked for but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

it was more of a 'sorry you couldnt make it card' but give us some more money!! well i went nuts, phoned her up & asked her why she send the card and she said - wait for this!

"oh right so we are ONLY getting £50 for THE happiest day of our life - it wasnt even worth giving if im honest"

so the long and short of it is i am now in possession of £50 worth of JL vouchers which i will use to treat my kids and she now has a nice handprint on her cheek after i high fived her face (which now i kind of regret ?) my auntie phoned me as i left and tried to apologise for her daughters behaviour to which she got told where to ram it. Also my other cousin (bridezillas sister) got the same card and is now £100 back in pocket after taking back her gift, now my 'cousin did all bridezillas flowers AND paid for the bridal cars for her & still £100 is not worth giving.............................................

apparently we were not the only ones as several other gifts have since been taken back, due to this which i think she bloody deserves. i would never dream of sending that kind of card to anyone! i dont see her as much as her sister so i thought it was a reasonable amount to give...........well my babies are going to benefit from it now

can you believe some brides!!!!!

Rant over lol xx

OMG!!! I really couldn't believe what I'm reading to be honest........ How on earth did she have the cheek to send those cards out???

    Whilst I don't condone violence, I can't blame you I'm afraid!

? Are you serious? What did the card actually say? I don't blame you for losing the plot - that is unbelievably rude and ungrateful, and just shocking to be honest! £50 vouchers is really generous anyway, especially considering the fact that you didn't even go!

I think she needs a serious wake up call as well as a punch in the face! What a rude ?

Sheeez! What a bloody ungrateful b!tch!

I wouldn't have slapped her, but I would have been very shouty. What a god darn cheek! That is more than rude!!!

    ?

...I'm also lost for words, if I'd heard this anywhere but here I'd have thought it was an urban myth. I mean I know people can turn bridezilla before the wedding but I thought there was an unwritten rule that on the day or afterward they got back to normal. That is just shocking!

    the card said:

    hillier, mr hillier & kids

we are so sorry you missed our wedding on sat, the day was perfect & we thoroughly enjoyed ourself.

we know you sent us the gift of vouchers (which we received - thanks) however it is not a reasonable amount for what we wanted to buy, if you can find any more money for us it would be appreciated

(best bit) ta from bridezilla & hubby

Now i dont condone violence either but she was extremly rude in what she was saying when a went to her house. she said mr hillier & i are not getting a gift from her at all now, which i dont mind AS WE ARE NOT GETTING MARRIED FOR MONEY OR GIFTS!!

kids were with another family member so didnt see their mum lose it...................

That is really strange....I don't supose they had included a money poem in the invite as well!?!

I'd be too embarassed to send anything like that, if you wanted to give her more, you would have done so off your own back! x

i had no intension of slapping her but the things she was saying to me just made my blood boil. She started to slate our wedding and even my kids which with me, you just dont do. she dropped the card in about 6am my sister stayes right over the road so she agreed to look after my bambinos while i paid her a visit. x

    ???

I too am lost for words!

And when you confronted her she actually thought she was justified in sending it? It's bad enough if you were a wedding guest, but you didn't even go! You weren't obliged to get them anything anyway - and no guest should be either for that matter!

I am quite shocked actually. She needs her head tested. What did her mum say to you?

I can understand how in the heat of the moment things can escalate. I wasn't having a go at you.

The "god darn cheek" and "more than rude" was about her, not you.

What an absolute cow! Was she originally invited to your wedding?

OMG I am in total shock!! I cant believe someone could be so rude and ungrateful. £50 is a lot of money for a gift to a cousin IMO.

I know you regret it but I think the slap was well asked for.

Oh.My.God that is shocking. I can't believe someone could be so completely ungrateful. You didn't even go, she still got a pressie and still she behaved like that? I would cull her in an instant! Fecking unbelievable behaviour and I hope she realised that after you left.

    Have fun spending your vouchers!

I cannot believe someone could be so rude, she's basically saying you are tight! Getting £50 for someone not coming to the wedding is really generous! She sounds like a right little spoilt cow.

Is she coming to your wedding, if so that would be enough from me to uninvite her?

The thing is you getting the vouchers back isn't the point is it - you choose to buy vouchers for a shop she would find things to buy themselves not for you and your family - you may have chosen to spend the £50 on something different if it was for yourselves.

    ? WSS!!

Somehow I don't think words would have got through to her as much as a slap, as bad as that sounds! Especially if she was saying things about your children too.

I would cull her instantly. I'm actually really angry for you now! ?

I just read the slap thing afterwards, I think in this case well deserved - because sending you the vouchers back is a slap in the face for you and she must know you are saving for your wedding too and that £50 could have gone towards some of your plans x

OMG!!! how rude - to be honest i have never been able to afford to give that much as a gift hence why my small list that people requested has things like tea towels ect as i dont expect them to spend lots.

I had an invite from a family member once which had the No kids rule and then went on to say after the dreaded money poem about no need for pots and pans -

"please remeber that gifts will be returned as we only wont money over the value of £150.00 per person as we have spent that much on having you here today"

You can imagine what i did with that invite

oh i do regret it in a was as it is totally out of character for me - in any other situation i would have just walked away as its just ridiculous but the fact that she is insinuating im tight and also bringing my 2yr old & 10month old (which you can imagin the things she was saying) into a situation that does not concern them was the last straw for me - say what you want about me but not my kids as it will hit a nerve.

i have had a txt from my other cousin - apparently an apology is on its way.......................
