Lots of advice needed with lots of flashes!!

happy_feet, 13 July, 2011 at 22:13 Posted on Planning 0 14

Hey everyone- have just got home from hair trial, liked it at the time, but after looking at pictures again I'm not too sure.. just after opinions, and I really really want honest opinions, and possible some advice on how to tweak, I'm thinking a little less 'bigness' maybe less volume in general - excuse the lack of make-up, feeling better about my dress though

Also thinking a pearl necklace with a simple pearl earing- do you think that will be too much?

Dont lose any of the fullness... Wedding hair by its very nature is "big". If you lose any fullness in it, it will just look flat. It looks amazing, very pretty!

Yes, I think a pearl necklace would go very well, either a string of pearls or pearl and swarovski crystal string.

It's quite similar to how I had mine which I thought looked a bit silly to begin with but it was balanced out by my huge dress!

I think it looks lovely (you have lovely hair!) and a simple pearl necklace and studs would look lush.

Ah thanks everyone, it might havhelped if I could have kept it in for longer, still thinking about doing something to eliminate such a big gap between tiara and veil

I thing it looks gorgeous from the back but the side view looks a bit odd with the bump of volume behind your tiara (sorry!)

I think you just bring the up do a bit forward so you could have few curls hanging close to your face, because your hair disappears when you see it with the veil and looks like you got no hair. sorry, just my opinion. Smiley smile

*puts work head on* (disclaimer I am not a hairdresser, but I work for a well known bonce-chopper and we see lots of brides through high 'wedding season')

Personally speaking, I wouldnt change a thing.

What time did you have your hair done? Hopefully by now it should have been in the style a good 5ish hours - how's it holding up? Does it feel like anything is about to drop out or bits are coming loose? These are all questions I hear asked if a b2b comes back after her trial and she's not happy. You've also got a good selection of all-round angles of the style - where is it exactly that you're not happy with/not sure of?

The Style you've picked is very 'classical' and with the amount of pins and grips holding your hair in place, there's no reason why it wont hold, as it is in the picture for the whole day.

HTH and I havent confused you

where is you veil clipping in? Is it right at the top of the crown directly above where the barrel curls start?

Thanks for honest opinions everyone- please dont apologise, its what I wanted!

the viel clips in behind the 'volume bumb' over the curls- I'm not too worried about covering it, as wont be for all day. I am also thinking volume bump is too big- It was bigger! I got her to reduce it down a little, so maybe it strill looks bigger from the side as would have been hard to take the whole thing out.

It was secure, but OH was at home so had to take it out before I got home,

we did try something similar where you could see more of the curls from the front and it just didn't look right on me- at certain angles looked like I had Teddy Bear Ears!

Def thinkinging reducing the bump a little so it flows into the style!

I think she has bumped it up as you would for a taller tiara. So lower would be better. I think the gap to the veil looks ok because of the style of tiara.

I have a few pearl sets here if you are interested https://www.3djewellery.co.uk/index_files/pearl_bridal_necklaces.htm

Ok so the plan is to get the volume bump removed totally and take the tiara further back- do you think that will work ok?
