Major diy hair panic!

Hedgemog , 8 March, 2016 at 19:47 Posted on Planning 0 15

So I just happened to be flicking through some old photos and found my prom pictures. I was looking at them thinking what a shame it was and how much I regret that I didn't do anything with my hair. I'm sat wishing I could change it and then it dawned on me that I'm doing exactly the same to get married! Now I'm panicking that I have no idea what to do and 10 days to sort something out.

I have shoulder length hair, and very little ability when it comes to hair other than straightening! Having someone else do it is not an option.

Anyone got any ideas or seen any clips or slides that would be easy to do and not cost much?

I'm starting to get anxious about the day now and it's stopping me thinking properly, I don't think I'd have any issue picking something normally. I've had so little to organise in the grand scheme of things but having no one to talk to has made it so that any little niggle has built up in my head to way more than it should be.

How were you planning on doing it? Could you get some sparkly combs and put them in the sides to pull your hair back from your face? Jon richard have some fairly cheap.

I hadn't planned on doing it at all! Or at least I hadn't thought about it. Where is good for hair clips?

They're pretty, not too much though either. YouTube would probably have something to show me how to use them.

Youtube is loaded with hair tutorials - even ones for "lazy girls" that takes moments but can look amazing (especially with something sparkly mixed in). Maybe get some of the 'spiral' decorations? No clipping, just twist Smiley smile

An example of how amazing the internet can be: http://hair.allwomenstalk.com/gorgeous-hairstyles-for-lazy-girls

It might take a bit of practice or maybe just someone to take a look with some extra pins/hair spray/hair goop for good measure if you've not got much time left.

It will be fine. At the end of the day it should be how you feel comfortable!

What about a headband / side tiara? Debenhams have some lovely ones and you'd receive it in time: http://www.debenhams.com/women/jewellery/hair-accessories?ps=max

Hair down, no veil, although maybe that would resolve this issue!

just spent an hour in Clair's accessories looking at different options and I think I need to look at tutorials for using clips and stuff first.

I like these, particularly the bottom right, but only if I can do it

If I can't then maybe a headband as even I can manage that

Just from a Google search unfortunately so no idea where from. It has just occurred to me that I could fashion something like this myself with a necklace and some Bobby pins if I loop a pin through the fastener and the fastening I that makes sense?

You can definitely DIY this Smiley smile

Otherwise, BHS, Debenhams, House of Fraser etc. all sell veils if you wanted to just go down that route Smiley smile

Yes it does, and you could put something special or old/borrowed/new/blue on it!

I think they are gorgeous, and something I might consider if I go for an art deco type dress.

Stephisaur that's exactly what I was thinking! So much more choice of necklaces or even bracelets than hair things!

I was having a right old wobble last night, worrying about it all. I dread to think what it's like organising a big wedding!
