make up and hair trials.

Cecdesigner, 9 March, 2013 at 16:21 Posted on Planning 0 6

Hello All.

I am looking at make up and hair at the moment and I am working out price wise, whether its worth having a trial for both or one. Some of the prices i have come up with are stupid.

Can i have some advice please whether its worth having a trial or just collecting some images, trying some out myself and talking to the stylist on the day?

thanking you very much.

Hello! Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Where will your wedding be based? I can recommend a great lady who might be affordable... I really recommend a trial where/when possible. It's best to get a sense what works and what doesn't before the big day - the goal is to leave your wedding day as stress free as possible. Drop us a line on **@*****************.*** and I can put you in touch with her.

    Good luck.

Based on my own experience I'd say definitely have a trial.

I had 2 hair trials, 1st one was a disaster and if I hadn't of had it then I can definitely say I'd of been crying my eyes out on my wedding day.

They couldn't have got it more wrong! That was with a photo of exactly how I wanted it.

Thankfully I found someone else who really understood the look I was after and my second trial was a success.

I do have a very good friend who had no hair trial though and her hair was lovely on the day.

I guess it depends on the style and how 'wrong' it could go?

Can't comment on make up trial as mine is not until next week, but I am having one just so I can just sit back and enjoy on the day.

I would recommend a trial.... Although that is because I had a hair trial last Tues and it didn't go well at all! So now I am going to have to find someone new. Annoying and expensive, but I would have been more annoyed on the day if it hadn't been right.

I'd always want to do a practice on a bride - I need to make sure her skin is Ok with the products, that they last like they should and that the bride is 100% happy with the makeup.

On the wedding day it's all about timings so time is off the essence and there's not too much time for redoing the makeup.

Hello , I had my hair and makeup trial yesterday would defo recommend to have one. We tried a few options of similar hair styles I had in mind. The first one I really didn't like and because we had the time etc managed to get it how I want ( just need to buy so extensions to add to length)

i also had makeup done. I don't usually wear lots of makeup so was good to get to see how the natural yet bridal look looked on me. ( get your oh to take you out in the evening so that lovely hair do and makeup don't go to waste) we went to a friends engagement get together so got to show it off to some of my friends.

also see if you can try your dress on , on the same day if possible. I arranged my fitting for after hair and makeup so could see the whole look together!

As Juliet says really. I would always recommend a trial for makeup. You need to make sure your 100% happy with the makeup so on the day there isn't any stress or worries. Also you need to make sure your skin doesn't react to the products being used.

Having a trial means you can relax on the day knowing your going to have the makeup exactly how you want it. The makeup artist can come in do the makeup and leave.

As hair and makeup are such personal things I would recommend having trials for both.

Otherwise you could end up stressed out or not looking like you on your big day!
