Make up help needed. Have a real problem.

Sarah67, 25 March, 2012 at 21:01 Posted on Planning 0 12

Hi can anyone advice which is the best long stay lipstick to use. Are these new lip stain pens anygood. My normal lipstick never stays on.

My next big problem is my eyes water quite a bit think it is an allergy/hayfever. I am getting married on 15th June 2013 which means lots of pollen. My main problem that I have is when my eyes water my eyeshadow always comes off. Any advice what I can use or do about this?

    Hi,

Can't help with the lipstick query I'm afraid, though I am interested in the responses!

For the eyeshadow, do you use a primer? if not then try one! I use Urban decay shadow primer - it seems expensive but toally worth it!

Are you doing your makeup yourself? if not, then ask teh artitst and make sure they are aware of the eye watering so they can use the right products too.

Will be doing it myself I would think. Where can I purchase the product you have mentioned? I have never used a primer before, have plenty of time to experiment though.

You wouldn't believe the difference a primer makes! Try it!

Debenhams sell Urban Decay products. If you ask the Urban Decay assistant they will tell you how to use it (though its really easy, you just put a small amount on under your shadow - makes the shadow stick and stops it creasing etc.

I don't think I've ever found its changed how the make up applies - except the colours tend to be more intense on it.

I don't think Boots still stock UD - least not even the biggest one near me does.

Mac do a cream eye shadow in what looks like a paint tube. I buy a really neutral shade & apply it before my regular eyeshadow, it lasts literally all day!!

Stay, Don't Stray by Benefit (Debenhams) is supposed to be good as an eye primer

For a long staying lipstick you should try a Mac amplified formula, they have great colour payoff and fantastic staying power! Pop to your local debenhams and get them to try a few out on you. Also, if you use a lip liner all over the lip before applying your lipstick it will stay a lot longer Smiley smile

I would stay away from the lipstains, they can be so drying which is not a good look fur the beautiful bride xxx

That is what I have found happen before. they never seem to make it look smooth either from where they dry the lips out. I just thought it was my lips ..lol.

I have been wearing make-up since my school days and am 44 now so am very confident with how to apply it but I guess my age is making my skin texture change now.

Nothing to add on the makeup front but to help with the hayfever I'd suggest silk flowers, or a button/broach bouquet.
