Make up Trial- when to have it done?

esser1, 19 January, 2010 at 17:31 Posted on Planning 0 7

MY makeup and hair woman has contacted me but I dont get married to the beginning of August. When should i book it for? Surely nearer the time, my worry then is what happens if i dont like it. Do you think Mid June is a good time or too late? Oh advice please x x x x

I had mine 3 months before the wedding so that i could go back a few times if i had to. In the end i decided to do my own make up but it was great fun nevertheless!

I was advised by the salon where I am going that I should have my trial 2-4 weeks before the wedding but because I want to make sure I like what they are going to do I am having it done 7 weeks before just in case I have to find someone else.

I think Mid June is ok, about 6 weeks before your wedding. gives you time to find someone else if needed, or get highlights/haircut etc. i think now would be too soon... x

I have actually had some make up trials already, I kinda cheated and got them done at bridal fairs by different make up artists so I know who I am happy with, as for the actual trial I will probably arrange it for the night of my hen do, just so that it doesn't go to waste ?

As for hair, I am trying to figure that one out myself, I might send my mum, BM's and FG to get theirs done as I don't want anyone seeing me coming back with my veil in so might get a friend of mine to come to my mums house on the day...she said she can do as many trials as I want ?
