Make-Up

BHAMBRIDE2B, 10 March, 2010 at 13:55 Posted on Planning 0 8

Wondering if many people are going to do thier own bridal make-up or have a professional, I have been thinking about it the last week and have decided I am going to, Ive watched many tutorials on you tube and had a little practice and think I can do a good job, I also did a NVQ2 in beauty therapy about 5yrs ago so know most of the basics (fingers crossed), so I think I might replenish alot of my make-up bag contents and go for it

I doing my own, I reccommend:

    http://www.youtube.com/user/makeupgeektv?blend=7&ob=4

    and

https://www.youtube.com/user/MakeupAdikt (Shes indian but her makeup looks amazing and is probably still very effective on lighter skin)

I think Im going to treat myself to a MAC trial which is £25 redeemable on products

I'm really stuck what to do about make up.... ?....

Where are you going for your mac trial steelgoddess? I'll maybe try something like this and get some new products to help my makeup last longer.

I'm getting a professional cos i'm pretty rubbish and very inconsistent with my makeup. sometimes i do a good job sometimes i look crap. no chances on the big day! sounds like u have enough experience, i'm sure you'll be fine! you could try this person for different techniques, or just search for 'wedding makeup tutorial' on youtube.

probably not a whole new set at MAC prices, more like 2 items ? but it is worth spending a bit more on MAC make up as it lasts for ages and the colours are ace.

    NARS is also brilliant.

As long as you are confident and comfortable with doing your own make up I'd say go for it! Just practice lots and invest in some new make up products to play around with. I'd also try and take photos of different make up and looks you practice so you can take a look back at them and see which you really like/dislike - particularly nearer the day as your preferences might change!

Allow plenty of time on the day for doing your make up. When I did mine time seemed to fly and I was a bit nervous so it took me ages. But I didn't really feel like I spent all the time I wanted to perfect it!!
