Make-Up Contouring

Panjita, 3 June, 2014 at 11:51 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 8

I'm not sure if it's actually called contouring but does anyone do this (see pics)? If so, what do you use, how long does it take and it is easy?

I've started to try and learn how to do this lately. I bought l'oreal glam bronze contouring kit which is highlighter, bronzer, brush and mirror, it's a good starter kit.

Used this simple, quick tutorial to start with and will try and build it up once I've practiced.

I've always *sort of* contoured in the sense that I use a matte bronzer round my cheekbones, and highlighter under my eyes, cheekbones etc.

I couldn't be faffed with doing it properly every day.

I just put flat base on all over and then use bronzer and highlighter over the top (when I'm glamming up for going out, otherwise it's just a bit of concealer and powder!)

As others have said - I sort of do it anyway, bronzer and highlighter in those same areas. Not tried it 'properly' though. Both of those photos annoy me - KK 'after pics' look heavily airbrushed and the bottom one she's doing that stupid duck face that girls of a certain age seem to think attractive. The lighting is also weird, so you can't see the effect properly.

I do it a little bit if I'm going out - not to the extent of the pics. I use Urban Decay flushed palette which has a bronzer, blusher and highlighter in one palette. In addition I use my normal foundation in a lighter shade for the pale bits (which I had anyway as I bought it by mistake), touché éclat under my eyes, then the flushed bronzer under cheekbones, the other bits you see dark. then flushed blusher on apples and highlighter after blending.

Only takes a couple of mins when you know where to put the dark/light. I haven't been able to find a dark liquid product so have been using bronzer. Could buy my normal foundation in a few shades darker but that is quite sheer and wouldn't give the contour like this. If you find something let me know!!
