Make-Up Recommendations

Amy_G, 24 July, 2013 at 11:09 Posted on Planning 0 4

I'm doing my own make-up for the big day, and while I'm pretty confident about most aspects, I don't wear foundation often and will be buying new foundation, primer and a few other bits at the weekend. I don't need a lot of coverage, but something with staying power and that will look good in photos is what's needed!

Any recommendations?

Hello, I also don't wear makeup on a daily basis, but I have found that Bare minerals is amazing, its a powders foundation so it feels like you have nothing on, but you get great coverage and if you buy the setting powder it stays on for hours, I had a trail wearing it in the sun and at work and at the end of the day it still looked amazing.
In debenhams at the moment you can buy the sets a lot cheaper than buying everything individually.
I got three different shades of foundation, the setting powder, a primer and a instruction dvd for £50. They will also show you how to do it all if you go to a counter.

What eve shadow color are you going for? That's where I am stuck.
    hope this helps.

I used Clinique and it was brilliant. I got their Even Better Foundation and Concealer, moisturiser and face wash and used boujois blusher and shadow and Rimmel mascara..

If I were you, I'd invest in some good makeup brushes (if you haven't already), it makes the world of difference..

I'm a bare minerals girl as well, I would definitely go and get a trial done, they'll help you out for free, my friend did her own make up and many of the make up counters were accomodating and did a complete bridal face for free!

Thanks folks, a friend recommended Bare Minerals too, but when I went to their counter in Debenhams, the woman was really patronising and it kind of put me off. Maybe I'll give them a go in a different shop...

Being patronised would put me off too - there's not much that I hate more. Having said that, I wear Bare Minerals most days for work and love it so I would definitely try a different shop!
