Make-up trial *flash*

jen52637, 16 July, 2010 at 19:25 Posted on Planning 0 16

I had my make-up trial done earlier today. It looks much better in real life than in the photos! Haha, ignore my stupid facial expressions and my ginormous nose! I look totally raging in this one ?:

I didn't really like the colour of lippy she put on, it wasn't really me so here is another with my own lipgloss:

Hair trial next week! ?

I really like it but i think you could a bit more blusher on, because you cant really see it in pictures. But other than that i like Smiley smile

It looks lovely - love the eyes.

Although one thing i would say is the lip colour would stand out more in photos - where as the gloss may get lost and i think the first pic is best. But its your make up and you have to be happy. x

very nice!! You look lovely!! Smiley smile The colour of the lipstick is maybe a wee bit dark, but not sure if your lipgloss is coloured enough, but its what you're comfortable in thats most important!! Smiley smile

I like it, very natural... although I would tend to agree that a darker gloss than your own and a bit more blusher would show more in the photos... x

    I think it looks lovely.

I prefer the first lip colour to be honest, and it would be better for photos (looking back at my photos I wish I reapplied my lipstick more!) but how about adding lipgloss (even a clear one) on top?

I agree with Lisa. You look lovely though and it you don't feel comfortable in the first lipstick then don't wear it but for the photographs I think it would be better. xx

Thanks everyone. I think, on reflection, there are some things I would like to change.

I'd like more eyeliner (I usually wear more and felt my eyes could do with a little more definition) and I've been shopping for a new lip colour to make me feel more comfortable. I have found a beautiful one at Mac and it looks fab.

Now my dilemma is that I attempted a 'bridal look' yesterday and I loved it! Now I'm wondering whether I should 1) do my own make-up, 2) arrange another trial and ask her to use some of my products (I'm thinking she may not like this), or 3) ask her to use some of my own products on the wedding day.

    Here is the original one:

    And the one I did:

Haha, I've just realised that on camera they look weirdly similar! ?

    What do you girls think?

It is very similar - your own own looks fab - maybe a wee bit blusher but other than that you look greatSmiley smile

    I actually prefer yours!

I think I'm doing my own makeup on the day. Going for a style similar to yours, which tbh doesn't look too difficult to recreate. Because I'm getting married on a Sunday most places charge an extra £40 on top of the normal fee ? so figured I could just do my own (or get my Mum to help) and then buy some nice makeup myself (which I keep afterwards)

Ps. Think your right about the eyeliner. Looks much better with more defination.

I prefer yours, your eyes look more defined in the outer corners and your lip colour is more suited to your colouring. Which are you more comfortable with?

I'm doing my own - I'm really into my make up and have never been happy when other people have done it for me before. Plus it'll save me some money!

I prefer your's too. It is very natural looking. I would maybe put a bit more blusher, lippy and eyeshadow on. Looks fab.

I prefer yours. i did my own make up on the day as i couldn't get anyone else to do it the way i like it. i did go for 2 trials where i got them to recommend a few products (though i wasn't hugely impressed), bought a foundation on loads of people's recommendations (estee lauder double wear light, if you're asking, which i know you're not....), and then on the day just did it myself.

Thanks everyone for your opinions. I'm thinking I'll probably just do it myself, am a little anxious about telling the make-up woman that though as I have already booked her for the day obviously.
