Making a complaint

MrsRegantobe, 16 September, 2010 at 16:47 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 1

Hi Everyone.

Hope I can get some advise but I think I know the answer if that makes sence?

I've worked at my job for almost three years and I've decided that I will soon will be leaving due to a few reason, only once I have a new job of course.

Now I like the people I work with, we all get on and don't really get too up in each others face often (Some times we all have to let off steam) but for a while now and maybe since I started but i've ignored it, One Lady has always been quite rude with me. One min were fine laughing the next I'm so stupid she has to do everything for me or it wont get done.

I'm not one for confrontation but today we kind of came head when a joke her and another woman were having I got involved in, it wasn't pretty. Anyway she just went a bit nuts, and this is on top of everthing else she does.

I've had enough and have decided enough is enough I can't carry on this way and I'm going to speak to my boss only problem is, it's her dad. ☹️

Should I say anything? or as I wont to leave just ride it out?

Thanks

It is difficult to answer without knowing details but if it was not her Dad, would you have no qualms in speaking to him?
I think what I am trying to say is that at the end of the day, he is still the manager, and if there is an issue then you need to speak to him.

It's hard to say without the full details of what happened. Could you not talk to her once things have calmed down before you take it a step further and speak to your manager/her dad?

I am a shift manager, and my managers son works with me. He is useless, a right lazy git. I got fed up of talking to him about it with him paying no attention whatsoever, so I went to my manger (his mum). I have to say it's the worst thing I could have done. She was full of excuses for him, and then was appallingly rude and frosty towards me for the next few weeks until I confronted her about it as I couldn't take it any longer.

I don't know how fair your boss would be, but with my manger she simply cannot grasp that during work hours her son is an employee and should be treated the same as everyone else.

If you can live with the situation until you find another job, I would try and do that as you may end up opening a can of worms.

I hope you get it sorted one way or another.
