glynbo, 23 November, 2008 at 10:54 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 3

I have loads of windfall apples and its freezing outside so I was going to make chutney - I know this is a piece of string question but how many jars will i need? Nigella's recipe makes 1 lite, although the recipe I fancy is on here

Won't it depend on the size of the jars? ?

I know i know lol, its just I have to go out and get them and no idea how many to get. I will work on the 1 litre thing and then hopefully the jars will say how much they hold...

I got my jars from lakeland, and they are 0.5 litre, and 1 litre. Compare the weight of apples in your recipe to the Nigella one, and that should give you an idea of final quantity.

Thanks Taffie. Its about half the quantity (ish) so should make approx 2 litres.
