Maldives - Sorry, sorry!

feathers, 15 December, 2008 at 21:27 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 4

Sorry, sorry but I am looking into holidays in the Maldives and am looking for some recommendations. I have been to Lily Beach and to Royal Island previously. The island needs to be fairly small as in not hundred's of rooms, have a dive centre (with good diving, think South Ari might be best for this?), have a good reef for snorkelling and relaxed bars. Not sure of the budget yet but less than the Banyan Tree costs for 2 weeks! Probably more a 4 or 5 star though (maybe about £5 - £6k for 10 - 14 nights). Am liking the Diva Maldives resort but again this may be too expensive. Haven't looked too much into prices yet but has anyone stayed at an island which they would recommend which would be friendly, relaxed, romantic, with bars (but not too lively) and must have the possibility to canoe around the island.

Hopefully I have ticked off all the necessary information, the only thing I haven't said is that it would be for 2 people. Thanks in advance. ? ?

I was in Meeru in Jan. Not sure its as high standard as you are looking for but it has a very good dive centre and its not too big. Im sure you can book the water villas though and spend a fair chunk of that!

We've been to Filitheyo twice and loved it - have a look on tripadvisor to see if it's the kind of thing you're looking for.

Bandos has a great dive centre and great medical centre and decompression chamber. It's very near Male airport. Not very big, in that we were on nodding terms with al the guests and still in touch with a few. Highly recommended.
