Male bridesmaid

bridesmaid2be, 16 February, 2010 at 23:42 Posted on Planning 0 35

I am a cross dresser and I would like to become a bridesmaid or a maid of honor at least once! I never had the chance to be a bridesmaid and I can't count on my friends to become married either! Would you consider having a male bridesmaid in the same look as the other bridesmaids in your wedding? I would love to make your day special!

    ???

You need to be asked by a friend, it's not a position that you volunteer for via a wedding forum! Please keep posting, we haven't had a good troll thread in a while and i could do with the excitement! ?

Wow! First: thanks for the nice welcome! I just joined this forum and am are already classified as a troll! What have I done so badly to deserve this fame?!

Look girls, I am not asking everyone to approve with this and I am already more than familiar with the believes of the majority! But thank god people are different!

If someone dearly wants to be a bridesmaid in a wedding (if girl or guy) and is never invited it may not be such a bad idea to post a question on a wedding forum?!

If you think this is a dumb thread just dont post! If it amuses you or makes you laugh, great! But, please girls dont judge me for what I am or compare me with Alex!

However if you find the idea of a male bridesmaid as exciting as some reponses suggest, may be you should make me your bridesmaid! Smiley winking

So let me get this straight....you would like to come to one of our weddings and be a bridesmaid? More specifcally A bloke in a nridesmaid dress?*

I am ALL for equal opportunites, but seriously:

    a) we have never met you - you could be completely insane

    b) if I have read your post correctly - you are a guy - you want to wear a dress to someone's wedding - why would you want to dress up as a girl and take the limelight from the bride, surely that is just mean?

    c) do you honestly think that posting this during HALF TERM WEEK was wise?

    d) YOU seriously want to be part of a complete strangers wedding party?? Do you seriously think that you would feel comfortable not knowing anyone?

If you are genuine, then I really do wish you luck in your quest, I am sure there is someone out there who is looking for someone to spruce up their wedding, I hope you find them.

I would also like to wish you luck in your GCSE's SATs or whatever exams you have coming up at school in May

    x

*disclaimer - I have nothing against cross dressing, I just find the OP's request a little baffling and required further clarification!

<~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~still chuckling quietly to myself in the corner!!!

I have no problem with having a cross-dressing bridesmaid if one of my closest friends wanted to do this (H2B has already threatened to wear a dress and upstage me!), however I'm not inviting any strangers to my wedding as guests, let alone a stranger as maid of honour!

Ok, lets put this straight! I am out of school for a quite a while now, so that should cover question c and actually I hoped to sound more mature Smiley winking

Apart from my little hobby there is nothing "insane" about me, so please dont be upset if I skip question a.

As I said before I do not expect anyone to agree with me or know me! After all my post is very is unusual and I am aware of that, so this causes a lot of confusion I guess.

I know the duties of being a bridesmaid and this involves being more than just being a girl in pretty dress! I would also play my part in making this day happen!

Even being a stranger I would be as excited as you girls! So after all this preparations that lead to the big day (hen, bridal shower, fitting, etc.)

I will be no stranger to you, nor your friends or your family. Bridesmaids are not supposed to eclipse the bride / steal her show!

So if I look convincing as a girl and play my part well there is nothing to be ashamed about and there will be no distraction!

It is just down to everyone to decide for themselfes! This would be a lot of fun! You can trust on my reliability and I will not be pregnant on the wedding day Smiley winking

Whether you are a he or a she, or a he-she or she-he. It is all a bit irrelevant, the only person who will want you for a bridesmaid is a friend or family member. I have never, ever met someone who was bridesmaid at a strangers wedding.

Tell your unmarried friends and family you want to be a bridesmaid and and wait.

Just because you are a cross dresser it does't mean you have to be a loon as well.

@Marc: You have got a point! But just because you never heard of it does not necessary mean it does not happen! What stops me from taking my chances?

Wait until I am too old? I can not accept that I did not try!

@Ms Spink: You are the bride and only you and your husband decide what happens in your wedding and what not! Sorry for suggesting!

Being a bridesmaid is an honur to a family member or close friend of the bride.

You can't come onto a site like this and advertise yourself as a bridesmaid, i actually find it quite rude!

And this has nothing to do with you being a male bridesmaid as we're having a female best man!

My brother has already been a bridesmaid! ?

Though I have to point out he was wearing a suit at the time! ? Though i'm sure if his mate gave him a dress he'd wear it! ? (He's a rugby player, they do weird things...) ?

I've got nothing against cross dressers, if there was someone close enough to me for me to want to ask to be part of my day, who also happened to be a cross dresser then yeah fair enough they can wear a dress.

    HOWEVER

No one knows you!? You would have gotten the exact same response if you were asking to be someones best man. You're a complete stranger. Who has yet to post pictures (I'm hoping you DO look like Wentworth Miller) So we have no reason whatsoever to accept you as genuine.

Ok, I wasn't aware that I was being rude by asking a question! I am sorry if I offended anyone by posting a thread!

I somehow feel like I am selling something by offering! I find it sad that I have to defend myself being called a crazed nutter, troll, loon, etc.

I am genuine and although I do not look like Wentworth Miller I truely wish all of you a great wedding!!!

Ok, call me naive as well if you want, but you would be surprised how many things happen under our sun!

There is always a chance and there is always hope! The truth is people are different and that what makes life interesting!
