March 2014 brides

*Pugsley*, 19 May, 2013 at 14:39 Posted on Planning 0 831

Hi,

I've seen a few other month's groups on here and thought I' do a March one (apologies if it has been done already).

Where are you getting married and how is your planning coming along?

I'm getting Married in St.Albans in Hertfordshire. I've booked most my main bits.

Got my dress, BM dresses, flowers sorted, venue, honeymoon, DJ and photographer.

We also sent our dave the dates out a couple of weeks ago! Just trying to slow down a bit now otherwise I'll be completely booked with 6 months to go.

    Hi MrsH2014, I'm getting married 1st March 2014.

I'm getting married in our local church near Neath, then onto the reception in Swansea, South Wales.

Got loads done booked church, venue, tog, vw campers, vog, band, caricaturist, my dress, bridesmaid and flower girl dresses and men's suits, my sisters doing our flowers and cake.

Next thing on the list is design and print the invites Smiley smile

    What's your date?

Hello March Ladies!! We get married on March 8th next year and we've got a fair bit done already too! We're having the ceremony in the village church, then off to our reception venue at a local country park. It's lovey and may not be the grandest place, but we go all the time with our beloved dog, so it means a lot to us.

I've also got my dress (which I am desperate to see again - September can't come soon enough!), my veil, booked the band, booked transport from the church to venue, sorted photographers, cake and venue decorations and favours!. Next big job is the bridesmaid outfits, but I'm waiting a bit for that. H2B is responsible for his own outfit and that of the best men and ushers. I don't dress him any other day, so he can pick his own attire for the wedding! It's going to be a surprise for me on the day, I'm quite looking to forward to it!!

Think we're designing invites over the summer and I need to talk flowers with my talented florist friend and I'm running out of things to do!

We can't decide on the honey moon at the mo, we dont know whether to have just a mini break and save the big adventure til later in the year to coincide with my 30th bday, and also, to give us chance to save up some pennies!

How come you ladies all opted for march too then? For us it was a compromise, I wanted winter and wouldn't have summer (I'm a redhead - sun makes me grumpy and blotchy!) , he wanted any time other than winter, so Spring was nice, not too hot and we can have my beloved daffs as flowers!

I'm a march bride too Smiley smile

Practically have all the boxes ticked! Only things to booked is OH's suits. Just went to a makeup counter and bough some nice stuff for my bridal makeup (going DIY). we've also talked about honeymoon ideas, at the moments it pinned in Cologne Germany in August for the Gamescom and sight seeing! But only if we can afford it Smiley winking

I was edging towards the DIY makeup route. One of my BMs is actually really good at doing makeup and has offered if I didn't want to hire someone or do it myself.

If you don't mind me asking, approx how much have you budgeted to buy makep?

About £70, I figure I'll get to keep the makeup after. Plus I have a few weddings this year to go to use it for.
My auntie and florist has offered to my hair so that another bit sorted too!

Well i got some ever matte foundation and a mineral eye-shadow that are gorgeous, the lady at the counter gave me a few pointers on how to apply it and that less was more (works best for me!) and free tote bag filled with samples!

    Lovely!

I think I'll go to a makeup counter and see what they say and probably get some bits and bobs.

I spoke to a makeup artist who my friend used and after a few emails, when I came to book a date for the trial she stopped replying. I've taken it as a bad sign which is making me sway towards doing my own.

Boots or debnams are a good place to go. I went to boots, the trail and stuff was free just bought the makeup. Not sure if its the same at debnams

Hello March brides! We're getting married in Grenada on March 18th! I have done virtually no planning yet as Sandals do pretty much everything for us but I have just started to look for the dress. What a nightmare! xxx

I know. we're sort of the same really. Every now and then find the odd little job to do, so I ordered my shoes a few weeks ago and the blazers I want my bridesmaids to wear, but other than that, I've not much to do. we've mainly been working on our itinerary for our honeymoon as we're away for a while. I just don't want to run out of wedding tasks too son!!

Where are you thinking of going on honeymoon Stackers?

I think the last thing I bought was my shoes a few weeks ago. Bought a few little bits this morning for a party hamper we are having like silly glow-glasses. But that's it!

Wow, that sounds amazing! My OH has family on New Zealand but it's just too far for them to come for the wedding. It'd be nice to go over there but it is such a lot of money.

I bet you'll have an amazing time!!

Crikey, the last time I posted, it was on my phone and I didnt realise it missed out half of my words - whoops! Anyhow, yes, we are super lucky that we can go to Oz on Honeymoon. The extra leave from work took some negotiating and I have left myself with a measly half day off before the wedding to get things ready, so we need to be super organized in the run up to the day itself!

I think the hardest thing for us is all the saving. We're managing and everything and have pretty much saved up mist of what we need already, but it's been quite a boring few months if I'm honest, we'll survive though!

When is everyone sending their invites out? We thought we might send ours with our christmas cards, does that sound about right?

    xx

We get married 15th march 2014, most things are planned now! My dress is being made so i get an appointment every month or so to see the next stage which keeps things exciting! We are having everything in one place - a barn which is fairly local and they provide all decorations, chair covers etc free of charge, they have some ace stuff so i cant wait to go choose everything! The bridesmaids dresses have been bought and the suits picked i just need to sort the page boy and the flower girl - she isn't born yet though! Future husband will be wearing uniform which hopefully wont be an issue! I am making a button bouquet which is my current project! The cars are booked and the photographer! I only have school holidays off so this is my big space to sort everything before xmas and hen nights come around! My invites are written and addressed sitting on my kitchen table at the moment - i know we are a bit early but we didnt want to bother with save the dates and timing wise this was best for us - partner is in the forces so timings are crucial! We are quite aware the most peoples holidays run until march and i know some family members will want to book a long weekend off so wanted to get in early enough for them to do that.

    Very organised sprollie!

I'm sending invites out about 4-5 months before to get rsvp's by about 3 months before I think (as we know we'll probably be chasing people up on their RSVPs).

We sent save the dates out at 11 months to go.

Yay finally a March brides page! (I didn't see this til today!)

We're getting married on 14th March and we're fairly organised!

We've booked our venue, registrar, given notice, tog, rings, my dress veil & headpiece & shoes, my jewellery, bm dresses, bm & usher gifts, STDs were done a while ago, hopefully finalising our table decs at weekend and am getting quotes for flowers. Honeymoon is booked (Maurittius - so excited!).

I've ordered the bits for our invites and placecards. I feel like I'm running out of things to do!

Our date is 29th March, most things are booked and as we struggle to get time off work DEC/JAN/FEB and have no other free holiday we're going to give notice on Tuesday next week eek!

I have Monday off and this has been designated as phone call day, need to book an appt with the jeweller my OH likes for him to look at wedding rings, book cake trials, speak to the venue decorators.

I have my dress, just needs shortening, hoop & veil are waiting at the post office to be collected. My head piece is ordered and being made, make up/hairdresser/photographer/florist are booked. I have my ring and the cake topper, bridesmaids dresses are upstairs. The jewellery I'll be wearing is at my mums with the dress, my ring has had to come back to be adjusted as I've lost nearly 3st since I bought it "/

We're having hurricane lanterns as centre pieces, they're in the loft along with the favour tins which will be filled with jelly beans, but can't buy them yet, also little bags for mints, and some baskets for the loos. Only thing I have contents wise is two impulse body sprays, really must make a list for this!

Obviously if we're giving notice the venue & registrar are booked, my mum went looking at an outfit yesterday. I still need shoes, as do my bridesmaids, and the boys need suits. Just need to pick what ones I (yep me!) want with OH & BM then will take my dad, FFIL & OH's 8 YO nephew to be measured. I figure this is the easiest way! Still considering a cake of cheese for the evening, and as can't have candles (daytime centre pieces) have all the stuff ready to make sweetie trees (except the sweets).

Save the dates have gone, as we have family travelling from overseas I wanted to make sure they went nice and early Smiley smile Will be making the invites on my week off last week in September. Have all the materials to do this already and the place cards randomly...

I hope I'm not panicking anyone with how little I have left to do, I'm organised boardering on OCD, so couldn't help myself!

Hi ladies we are getting married Sunday 30th march, we didn't realise it's mothers day.... Flowers are going to be more money but hey. We booked a Sunday and a winter package and received 30% discount which you can't grumble at.

I have my dress, fluffy shrug and tiara and big bridesmaid dress, cake and centre decorations sorted.

Looking at sending save the dates out next. Has anyone one these DIY or ought them?

    Hi!

I didn't realise it was Mother's Day on the Sunday!!! I'm getting married on Friday 28th march so I'm glad you've said that so I can make sure I'm organised for that as well.

I got my save the dates from vistaprint. Got fridge magnets which we put out own design on. I think for about 60-70 or so of them we paid about £8 in the end. Bargain!!
