March Brides-how are we getting on?

Pink Han-bag, 14 January, 2013 at 17:54 Posted on Planning 0 17

I've had a VERY productive week or so!

Most of my outfit is sorted

Men all sorted

Bridesmaids all sorted

Flowers ordered and ordered a felt buttonhole for my 3yo

Cake ordered and paid for

Entertainment paid for

Photographer paid for

Favours-Mum's made the female ones, I need to sort out the men's (mini jars of chilli jam)

Baskets of essentials for the bathroom sorted

Venue dressing all organised

Cake topper ordered

Jewellery for myself and bridesmaids (doubling as gift) ordered

Wedding rings ordered

Kids favours ordered/got

Confetti ordered

Still to do:

Proof the outstanding stationery (table names, place names etc)

Send info to Registrar (this week but need to decide what I'm walking down the aisle to!)

Find some shoes for my 3yo

Present for OH

Present for best man and parents

Print various signs

Make confetti cones

Finalise Cheese tower

am I missing anything obvious? How is everyone else getting on?

Well we totally changed our wedding venue in the last week after a major hiccup with our original venue we'd had booked for a year already, had to email around all the suppliers ect to let them know and guests of course! Brought my wedding ring YAY Smiley laugh ! I also purchased the bridesmaids gifts last night from etsy!

Feels like i still have so much to do but i dont think there really is much to do but pay for it. we need to give notice! < important one!

Need to purchase the little man's grey converse and find a suit either to wear or have tailored to wear and sort out OH presents and best men, OH's wedding ring and he needs to go to the tailors to be measured for his suit!

and Just other little things im sure ive forgotten!! Buy confetti! thanks for reminding me, need to buy some mulberry flowers to add to our favour boxes, Personalised M&Ms...

You two have been busy bees!

I saw the registrar for a 'ceremony planning meeting' to go through how the whole ceremony will be, where the readings will be, what time they're getting there and who to see, and even little bits of who will I pass my flowers too, and when will I pass them! I also popped into the Range and got my MOH a frame for one of her gifts and also picked up a 12 pack of pocket tissues in our colours green and ivory, which I found just by fluke really, for 99p! They'll go into our lil bathroom baskets. Friday night, my aunt who's making our rings (well OH is helping her with mine) came over and we discussed what we wanted and she's order the metals for them both to do this Saturday whilst I'm at my hair trial. Also this Saturday, I've got florist to confirm flowers, and cake too.

Yesterday, me and my MOH went into town and picked up some perfume and aftershave for me and OH, which isnt something we'd planned on getting for the wedding but as we saved a bit of money on our rings, I got us both some. I was going to get me some anyways just for special occassions, but I may now wait til the wedding for the first time I wear it, and same with OH's. I was also going to try get some jewellery - but that failed and I got nothing!

The gifts for the best men, OHs dad, and another part of my MOH's arrived today - still awaiting my little bridemaid ones, and I've still got to get one sorted for our ring bearer.

Wednesday we're seeing our caterers to confirm the menu choices, which in a way I'm worrying about as Ive struggled to pick a pudding! Thursday, we've got Photographer - which we've already chosen some group photo ideas.

I've also got to pay the rest of my hen do and give my MOH my passport dtls too by the end of the week.

Next week I've got my dress fitting and also make up trial.

My new motto is to not contemplate further back than 1 week and further forward than 1 week.

So, last week we booked our TOG catchup and paid off the balance, ordered samples for OOS card, cut and stuck all the elements of the table plan except the actual names of whos on tables. And on sunday we went to see my godparents who are the vicars for our service to finish off that side of things.

This week I am ordering the card for OOS, having travel jabs for honeymoon, ordering the last of the gifts and sorting out final venue details ready for our meeting with them on friday afternoon, after which I will be hitting the road to nottm to see 2 BM's, get one's dress altered and have a mini 2nd hen do.

Can't think much beyond that atm, but I feel like most things are in hand or at least there is a plan to get them in hand!

Today was my deadline for RSVPs - 8 outstanding to chase, which is a massive improvement on this time last week. Hate chasing though, gggrrrrrr!

Had my hair trial at the weekend which was SO exciting!! Next week we're off to finalise details with the venue and the photographer, I'm having my dress fitting, and my make-up trial, and we're ordering the men's suits.

Have spent the last week decorating jam jars (for tea lights and flowers) and making favour boxes.

My biggest headache now is the seating plan and finalising the stationery (table plan, order of service, menu).

But all in all I'm getting VERY excited - not long now!

Our rsvp date was 9th Jan for day invites, and we're waiting for 2 more people I beleive that we havent even heard from. We've had a couple come in after the date, and I've had a couple message to say theyre on their way.

Im still wondering about nails or not. I bite my nails so theyre in a bad state so I probably should have something done to them, but the thought of it is a bit icky. I hate anything to do with nails ?

Hello! I've not been around much lately but I'm back!! Not long to go for us, 23 March and since Christmas we've been really busy!

Didnt send our invites out until the first week in jan so still a couple of weeks until the RSVP deadline though most people know when everything is happening!

Current jobs on my list are finalising the OOS, meeting with the vicar to finalise service, meeting caterers to confirm, and sorting out the hen do. Lots of other things on the list too but mostly it seems I'm paying off the balance for things... Getting very excited now though, may have to do a flash soon!!

Weve had ours, well I went on my own and relayed it back to OH. I cant quote on my phone but I did mention it in my 1st post in this thread Smiley winking

We had it at the same time as us handing in the sheet, with payment, which is what they preferred reading the booklet and it saved us having to faf with postage and wait for the Ok. Plus she helped with a few queries over vows so I coukd complete the form with her.

Thanks Chedi - wish ours did it this way. I feel a bit up in the air until I hear back from them.

Just about getting there with sutff now (not feeling quite so panicked as I was at the start of the month).

Still got all the little bits to sort though, like bathroom baskets, gifts for groom, b'maids etc, booking in to get eyebrows/nails/wax etc, printing stationary for the day. Oh, and lose about 2 stone!

I feel like it should all come together in time though - i think my main concern at the moment is having enough in the wedding account. Now we are paying off all of the last bits and pieces, watching the amount decrease at high speed is making me a little sad!

    xxxxxxxxxx
