Master of Ceremonies

My h2b best mate pulled out and said he's now unable to make the wedding. Absolutely gutted but what can we do? We're having our wedding abroad and his reasons were "loss of income" as he has his own business. Anyway, h2b didn't ask anyone else to be his BM and has decided against it. So what do we do about an MC?? Is it really necessary to have one? Can the DJ just do all the announcements? I mean, at the end of the day the only thing that's really missing is the BM toast/speech. What do you think? One can hire out an MC/Toastmasters for the day. Should I possibly look down that avenue? I'm very confused here so a little help is greatly appreciated :-) THANKS

Most wedding DJs are very used to....and often very good ....at doing the MCing.

    Hi ya

What is the format of the day? Is it the same as a wedding here, with ceremony, pre reception, wedding breakfast and evening reception? How many people will you have?

If you need to move people from one place to another it is helpful to have someone make announcements, but if it is only to announce the speeches, FoB can just *** a glass to get everyone's attention and then go straight into it.

If you are having a very formal wedding with lots of different elements then maybe ask the venue if the banqueting manager is able to do. A lot of venues offer this service.
