matching colours.

mimimouse23, 17 March, 2009 at 14:23 Posted on Planning 0 7

I am just wondering if any one has any ideas as I am struggling! I haven't bought my dress yet but i know i want a pink and cream roses hand tied bouquet. My H2B refuses to wear a pink tie which is fine as I was thinking whites/greys etc but what colour other than pink could the bridesmaids wear? They both screw their noses whenever I mention pink so I guess its not a popular choice! Its a May wedding so I feel black may be a bit too wintery but not sure? Any suggestions welcome please!

We had dusky pink and sage green which looked lovely together! My bridesmaids were both happy wearing pink but my OH refused!! Any shade of green would look lovely with pink though - like someone said olivey green would look great too!

You could go for champagne for the dresses or even burgundy. I've done quite a few monochromatic bouquets using pastel pinks through to hot pink, dusky pink and then burgundy. Or as already mentioned the sage green looks gorgeous with pinks. Below are some examples of monochromatic bouquets so you can see what I mean

These are all artificial flowers but your florist can easily replicate them in fresh with the exception of the tulips on the first posy as fresh tulips may wilt in warm weather. Hope that helps.

Depending on what colour pink you are having there are loads of colours that would stunning with it.Pink & ivory would look great with chocolate brown, pale blue, sage green, aqua, midnight blue, black, bright orange- here are some pictures that may help or inspire you.

Ooo chocolate or mocha brown qould look amazing, so would any shade of green and from my experience men prefer a sage or apple green to darker ones. Or you could go for a periwinkle blue or ice blue as all would go. Failing that, a simple ivory bm dress with a pink/sage ribbon and your h2b with an ivory/sage tie would be gorgeous.

and if you went for a sage green, you could get some eucalyptus sprays added to your bouquet for a splash of green to help tie it all in.
