Mauritius Destination Wedding ? Grateful for any advice!

RomanticYellowCakes795, 12 February, 2017 at 13:56 Posted on Honeymoons & Getting Married Abroad 0 1

Hi everyone ?

My fiance and I are hoping to get married in October 2018. We would like a small, intimate wedding in Mauritius with 8-10 guests and would like to have the ceremony on the beach and then a private wedding dinner with our guests either on the beach or outside somewhere.

We are in the very early stages of looking and trying to get as much information as we can so if anyone has got married abroad or is planning a destination wedding I would be so grateful for any help or advice as it is hard to know where to start! I would be especially grateful for advice with any of the following -

Any recommendations for hotels for weddings in Mairitius. I really like the look of Sugar Beach, Lux Le Morne, Paradise Cove and the Maritim but would love to know if there are any other hotels anyone would recommend or if anyone has got married or stayed at any of the ones mentioned above

How far in advance do you need to book your wedding/reserve the wedding date with the hotel?

What sort of ammount should I realistically budget for the total cost of the wedding?

Has anyone been to Mauritius in October? From what I have looked at it seems a good time to go with relatively low rainfall compared to other months.

What dress/shoes did you choose for your wedding abroad/beach wedding?

Thank you all!

    Hi

I can't help with planning a wedding in Mauritius but me and my husband went to Paradise Cove in October last year for our honeymoon. We stayed two weeks at Paradise Cove. Some people we spoke to there said they spent one week at a hotel in the south and then a week at paradise cove.

We went in October and the weather was great. It was sun bathing weather most days, the odd clouds day and one day when there were on and off heavy downpours.

Paradise Cove was an amazing hotel, staff could not do enough for you, felt very looked after but without it being intrusive. The food got mixed reviews but we were happy and there was enough choice. The lobster meal was nice! It was mainly couples there and the hotel is adults only. The hotel grounds are lovely. The only thing I would say is to look into the location of the ceremony as the beach at Paradise Cove is like the name suggests is a small beach in a cove in the middle of the hotel grounds. Although there are plenty of parts of the hotel grounds that look out to sea. Not sure where the ceremonies take place. The grounds are spacious and stunning.

I'm just trying to think of an excuse to go back.

    Hi Rachel

Our friends went on their honeymoon to Mauritius in mid-October. They said it rained a little bit (like in most tropical countries), but they absolutely loved it!

On a side note - if you are looking for a wedding photographer, we can offer really good package for a wedding in Mauritius as it's on our wedding photography 'bucket list' :-)

    All the best
