May 2012 Brides ... How are we getting on?

Well last week was so up & down in regards to wedding planning.

Received a lovely text from one of my bridesmaids (a friend) to say she wouldn't be attending the wedding. Three months to go and bridesmaid dress material bought ? Wasn't best pleased to say the least. Anyway i'm over that now! I have a stand in bridesmaid, they have now all had their measurements taken and my seamstress has set to work making the dresses.

Set on the nitty gritty tasks of making the table plan, place/name cards, table numbers and guest book. I'm starting to run out of things to do.

My friend has been over today to do my hair trial, really pleased! Also booked another friend to come the day before for my pamper session of waxing, facials and nails.

Meet the vicar on Saturday and dress fitting straight after. Eeeek! Excited is an understatement.

My big breakthrough this week has been sending off all their (OH's has expired) passport applications, the kids' ones have been a bit of 'mare between impossible (and expensive) photobooth sessions with the baby and sorting out a countersignatory, before the post office staff turned the forms away for signatures touching the surrounding box! Cue frantic chasing down the coutersignatory again for the fresh forms... Monday morning, after previously being told they were ok, the baby's photos were rejected (aargh!) for reasons I didn't quite buy so I chanced it at a different post office where they accepted them!

Hmm had the big reception venue (local cricket club) meeting fairly impromptu this morning. My head hurts! Positives and negatives to take from it. Can't get into room to decorate until 11am (ceremony is at 4pm luckily). Anyone know how long it takes to set a room up? Corkage £3 a bottle. She'll do a knife and fork cold buffet for £16.95 per adult. Someone tell me these costs are good please? I'm not entirely convinced. But I love the £20 add-on fee, which means we don't have to clear up afterwards! Everything else was as hoped, just no closer to room layout and firm starting time (she threw in some suggestions about timing I hadn't thought about and not sure I needed, thanks for the extra confusion ?).

Hen party a week on Friday....Just needed to vent some excitement. Can tell I don't get out much lol

Probably doesn't sound that exciting but with a young child I'm just glad to be free for the day and night!! I'm a daily gym goer so we're swimming, gym then relaxation room (sauna, steam room, jaquzzi) Then we're heading to have our nails and facials done. Followed by a meal in in our favourite Italian with cocktails...lots of wine and then just a general pub crawl.

Since sending the day invitations i have lost my motivation...i just cant be bothered....huffff, i will have to start again soon, need to get my evening invites sent! plus a long list of other things!

I am beginning to panic now and was in tears early for no reason.

I've had a really productive day today!

Sorted out our ESTA's

Constructed the favours

Sorted the table plan

All I have left to do is: Dress fittings, choose veil and tiara, have make up and hair trial (both booked). OH has to arrange the suit fittings and decide on gifts for Best Man and Usher

Oh, and I am waiting to hear on the pianist to give him the songs we want played at the ceremony.

What am I going to do for the next few months....!!

I haven't even booked my hen night yet!

And I walked past my bridal shop today and had a gorgeous dress in the window. 11 weeks before the wedding and I start thinking about another dress....not good!

Aww nursebride... just keep going, it will be worth it!

I havent had the tears yet but I know I will, I'm getting to that stage

where i just want it to be here...fed up of saving and constantly thinking of the wedding,

plus my spare room is a tip - full of wedding stuff...haa!

yep, was 3 mths yesterday therefore now even more scary !!

We had our pre wedding shoot with our TOG on sat, was a lovley day!!!

Have another dress fitting next Monday..my third already lol!

Oooooh dear, officially less than three months to go, I feel physically sick!!

Got my hair and make up trial on Sunday which I can't wait for and then going to meet with Registrar a week on Friday to organise our marriage certificate, hopefully OH will get the day off too and we can get the rings sorted aswell.

I had my hair trial last tuesday, and have make up trial booked for 30th March.

Hi everyone...

I havent been around for a while, eventually got all the invites out and slowly getting RSVP's. Had meetings with caters and marquee company, I had a make up trail, didnt like at all so just going to do my own.

Still lots to sort, hoping to get to meet with the vicar in the next week and also sort suits....

Tad scary how quick its all coming around!

I seem to struggle to get thru a week with out crying, last week i only had one day tear free! ha

I think I am in denial at the moment as to how soon May is. Its been so long coming round I keep thinking I've got ages and then it hits me that actually no you havent - get a move on! Got my first dress fitting tomorrow and hair trial in a couple of weeks but cant really think of anything else I should be doing - this doesnt mean I'm organised more likely my brain has shut down and cant think of what to do next!

Bought most of our thank you gifts, waiting on my cards to go with and got my journals to write for my parents and OH so should start those soon.

Pretty much all evening invites are out now, apart from a few people I work with (I'm useless and keep forgetting to bring them to work)

One of my bridesmaids has lost a lot of weight and we've found a Dress Makers not far from us who'll do any alterations for £10! Can't believe it, really expected to pay more.

Got my hair trial in a couple of weeks, which I can't wait for, I'm getting a bit impatient about that!

I'm also waiting for the DJ to confirm he's been booked (which I've a feeling he hasn't) so I'm chasing that today.

Also managed to sell my Bridesmaids dress that is too small so the cash for that has been a great help. Everything has cost so much more than planned!

Went to church yesterday as well, not the one we're getting married in but the one that is in our Parish, was nice to hear our Banns being read out - made it all feel really real!
