    Hiya

Yep, only 6 1/2 months to go today... It's going quite quickly now.

Everything is booked and most paid off, still got the registrar to pay but can't do that until the new year, others to pay off are the d.j, the chair cover people, the caricaturist, the table plan/place settings to pay and the venue to finish paying.

The invites have started to go out and we've already received 3 RSVP's - acceptances Smiley smile

Still struggling to find nice shoes but have bought my jewellery now and I love it, really sparkly Smiley smile

Just buying the little bits and bobs from eBay, decoration bits, confetti cones etc..

All starting to come together now isn't it! We have a big event now every month until the wedding, so with 3/4 weeks between each it's going to fly by now!

    Our hen/stag dos are booked.

Taster evening done and menu almost selected!

Final 3 bridesmaids are being measured on Saturday so they will all be ordered!

Bought my ring yesterday - see other thread!

    Left to finalise:

    OHs kilt

    Making up invites and sending

    Finishing bouquets

Choosing OHs ring (he wants cheap and cheerful as he won't wear to work, but i want it to be a little special)

Hair/Make up trial, but waiting for dress to come in so can try it with the dress! Shes my friend so easy to arrange.

Finalise veil choice - again wiaitng for dress to come in.

    Almost there!

I'm in a similar place too ladies....

Our still to do list is:

bridesmaid dresses- am going shopping with the two girls on 1st November...I'm hoping it goes well, I've told them both no matter what we're picking something that day! It's awkward for us to arrange dates otherwise with working/travelling/having other things booked.

mens suits - this is OHs department, but I bet I have to give him a kick up the bum and remind him he can't leave it til the last minute

veil - waiting til I try my dress on again mid November and will confirm if it's def a single tier cathedral veil I want, then I'll order that

jewellery - haven't thought much about this, I dropped a subtle 'wouldn't diamond earrings be lovely' hint my OHs way when we ordered our wedding rings haha. But I need to get me a necklace and earrings....what about a bracelet too? I don't know...

invitations - design picked, wording mostly done, just need to get on and order them! And sort out order of services.

venue: just thinking about food and finalising those little details like canapé choices, timings of things, table plan

decorations: we've got quite a lot of bits n bobs but still collecting things to decorate the venue with

hair/MUA: both booked but yet to have trials....

    i think that's everything left...not bad eh?!!

what son organised lot we are :-D

I have done venue, church, photographer, dj, car, cake, dress, my wedding ring, bm dresses, invitations, flowers, candle holders and my shoes.

still to do - complete the favours, make the invitations, grooms ring, suits, flower girl dresses, table plan, table names and little bits and bobs.

Im trying not to get too ahead of myself, but at the same time don't want a mad rush next year. I keep thinking I have ages after Christmas, but realistically I get married the beginning of May so it's only 4 months. Arrggghhhh!

So we are mostly all at the same sort of planning stage!

I so feel very relaxed about it all if I'm honest. But that is probably only because I have been extremely organised so far and I am well ahead of myself. But then that is how I like it!

Not organising my hen do is hard because Im not in control! If it was down to be it would be booked and paid for by now!

I have a spreadsheet with the different worksheet names at the bottom and there is one called 'List of things needed' and it is getting smaller and smaller as I tick them off! It's a lovely feeling Smiley smile

I love my spreadsheet, I think I have 4-5 "pages" on it now though - guest list, budget, playlist songs we keep thinking of, to do list which keeps growing and websites that I find and don't want to forget.

I think you're right Lorns, we're all about at the same stage which is quite reassuring Smiley smile

Thanks! Think I'll need luck....I'm hoping not, but reckon it might be a bit argh! ive booked three bridal shops, and if there's time I might drag them to the high street shops too!! When I looked online it said about certain designers of dresses needing so many months to order so I'm hoping I've just left enough time! Another good reason for making a same day decision! I still really like the multiway dresses but not sure where we can go to try those on, don't think there's any local stockists near me so we'll just have to see what we can find...I'll be glad to get it sorted tho.

Yeah I think it varies between designers, and I think they can do rush orders, but not sure if this pushes the cost up - probably! hopefully, just remember you have the final say - we narrowed it down to three, one had the most votes so i made the others try that dress on and they all agreed in the end! yay

I think with the twobirds multiways you can have a sample delivered to your house? i think theres a small fee, but that might get taken off your final order?

Yeah we're all in the 6 month mark now! I bought my bridesmaid dresses yesterday so that's another big tick off the list!! It was a lovely day and found some beautiful dresses that suit them down to the ground. They're a but more than I wanted to spend but I went for an oh well approach, so all happy all round!

Oh no, really? Technically my first fitting won't be til march but I just wanna go and see it and try it on in my size (the sample was too big) Are you allowed to just go and try it on for fun? Or are you just happy to wait?

The shop i bought my dress from don't store them so i've had it hanging up in the dress bag at home for the past six weeks. It's getting harder and harder not to take a peek or try it on!

Passed the 6 month mark yesterday!! time is flying by now!!

Made some progress this weekend, OH finally decided on his kilt and the deposit has gone down for that so all booked - just needs to be measured up 12 weeks before! My shoes came back from being dyed just in time for me to go and try my dress on next monday! Invite design has been finalised, and proof read by my parents so they need tweaking and printing and assembling Smiley smile

OH ordered me a 'wifey' t-shirt and saw a matching hubby one so he wanted that both as christmas pressies to each other. So cheesy, and usually unlike us, but love it!

My friend is doing my hair tonight (my regular appointment) but going to talk wedding i am sure!!

Feeling very excited at the moment.

Yep, time is really zooming at the moment, we've only got just over 5months to go and, with Xmas coming up far too fast I think next month will go by so quickly too, then we're in countdown mode....

I had my boudoir shoot last week and can't wait to see the pictures Smiley smile

Everything all done now, just paying all the last bits off, the invites have been sent out and we've had some RSVP's back already but it's slowed right down now, I do think I'll still have to chase some people even though I've included sae rsvp cards in the invites.

Ive seen some "under new management" just married tshirts which I may get OH one as a jokey wedding gift Smiley smile

We're coming up to the 5 months mark, it is going very quickly! Invites are finished and given to OH Dad to write them. They will go out first week in January, which is going to come around so fast! ?

I am going to try and leave the wedding planning over December, and then make a list in the new year of absolutely everything I need to do and finalise and then go from there Smiley smile

Yep the 6 month mark is upon us! Still ages away yet though :-D i bought some tissue paper to make paper pom poms with to have a pom pom backdrop a bit like this behind the top table...

Not tried making any yet, I really should in case I lose my patience with it and cant do it!

OH still has to sort out mens suits but we've kind of recently found out his brother who is/was going to be best man, his girlfriend is due their 2nd baby the day before our wedding so they might not be able to come, so he needs to decide if he asks his best friend to step in or what now.

My headpiece is due to arrive Thursday which Im very excited about, and a little bit scared because I havent see it, I hope I love it! And I ordered my veil last week which should arrive in a couple of months. I had a bit of a look about a hen do - Im not that fussed, but i guess i would quite like to do a bit of something so am looking at a nice meal out or something. And excitingly now we have most of our honeymoon plan sorted - a gorgeous looking small hotel in Italy - just have to finalise some details with the hotel, and then have a look at the route down there and places to stop at on the way there and back!

    Soon be 'our' year! x

Well girls, it's getting scarily closer! I have pretty much done everything, just waitng for appointments etc. We left a few months of not doing any wedding stuff as it was 'so far away' now I'm like 'holy moly! We have less than 6 months!', so far I have done/got:

    Venue

    Registrar

    Photographer

    Videographer

    Dress

    Veil & Hairpiece

    Jewellery

    Shoes

Bridesmaid dresses - made to measure & now hanging in my second bedroom!

    Suits chosen

Order of the day sorted just need timings finalised

    Cake

    DJ

    Evening entertainment

Hair & Make up - had my trials in October as I have literally no time off left next year, booked it all already

Room night before & wedding night

    Food provisionally picked

    Invites all ready to go

Wedding party gifts all sorted just need to buy the last few

    Hen booked

    Honeymoon booked

The things I have left to do are:

    Send invitations - January

Meeting with the registrar to finalise everything & get my passport form signed - March

Dress fitting - 1st one 17th Jan! Eeek!

Suit fitting - in Jan & March

Print all the bits & pieces off like, signs & OOD (asked for a printer for Christmas ha!)

Buying the rings - acruing clubcard points, need the last few from Christmas so will get these in Feb

Table plan << not looking forward to this, trying to start it now just putting everyone in then if I get a no take them out, but it's so hard! Smiley sad

    Engagement Shoot - February

    Boudoir shoot - March

That's all I can think of at the moment, I've probably missed loads off! I remember when I was looking on here at people saying after 6 months theirs flew by, and I was still at over 12 months to go thinking OMG this is dragging so much - now I totally agree! This is going too quick! I have too much to do, with Christmas in the middle of it all as well, I mean people won't mind if they don't get presents or food right?? haha damn it! lol

Fingers crossed for all of us B2B that things run as smoothly as possible for the next 5-6 months! Smiley smile
