    Snap Smiley laugh Great minds.

I haven't had any worries until I joined here ? We're quite laid back, only sorted out our church and venue. What things do you ladies still have to do? Smiley smile

We've sorted the venue, registrar, invites (I just need to make them all! ?), DJ, Photographer, Hair & Make up, My Dress, Bridesmaid dresses, Photobooth, decorations for tables etc.

The MC and table centerpieces are included in our package so thats one less thing for me to do!

Time is going sooooooo quickly!!!! 9 months to go!!! eeeeek

We're getting married on 14th May 2016. So far I've sorted the venues. My sister is making the cake. My sister is also being my bridesmaid - I'm only having 1. My kids are being flower girls and I've got them their dresses. I've pencilled in a caterer but I'm not sure they're the right one, so I may un-pencil them. That's it! I'm doing my own make up, I've decided that. I have no:

    Dress

    Centrepiece ideas

    Decoration ideas

    Transport

    DJ

    Guest book

I'm not sure what to do next or what I need to sort out.

We're getting married 29th May 2016! So far we have sorted:

    - Venue

    - Photographer

    - Band

    - My dress

    - Save the dates

    - Florist (although I haven't made any decisions about what flowers I actually want...)

We're going bridesmaid dress shopping in a few weeks and have started looking at invites etc. We don't need to do too much in terms of decorating the venue as there's quite a lot already, but we have a few ideas for little touches to make it more personal.

    Not long to go now!

Yay! I was just about to start one of these the other day, then chickened out so I am so glad you have!

    We are Saturday 28th May.

We are pretty much on top of things, when I say 'we' I mean I am, lol.

All we have left to do it:

Cakes, Flowers, Guys Suits, Bmaids dresses, Decorations, and the little bits and bobs.

It's all coming round a bit too quick for me, eek.

Supposed to be starting my diet soon too, so need a kick up the backside there.

So glad have registrars and giving notice out the way! One good thing about the wedding being less than a year away.

Anyways HI again to all the other May girlies, my name is Charlotte ?

Hahaha! Exactly the same here, I say 'we' but its actually me! All he is bothered about is music and food, the rest of it I may as well be talking to the wall.

    We are 29th May too.

    So far we have sorted:

    Venue

    Photograher

    Band

    Registrar

    Save the dates

    My dress, shoes and jewellery

    Hair and makeup

    Cake

    Florist

    Honeymoon

    Centrepieces

Our decorations are included in the hotel package so the only things left to do (I think!) are:

    Give notice

    Invitations

    Suits

    Rings

Bridesmaid dresses (we have chosen them but don't want to order them too early in case they don't fit)

We booked our venue with 18 months to go and will be halfway through our countdown on Saturday. I can't believe how quickly it's going!

Ok, please be kind but what is "giving notice" just that's not on the to do list.

Oh yeah we have also the Save the Dates. Really sad but I really enjoyed getting them. Although did have to explain to FMIL that it was a magnet though, which was quite amusing.

I'm actually quite lucky, he's taken a real interest, even picked out our venue, and gone preliminary BM shopping with me (closest is hour and half away)

    Hi everyone,

I have stopped lurking to comment on this post as we have our wedding booked for May 21st also ?

I am feeling quite organised at the minute, we have our venue booked and it is a package which includes quite a lot including a DJ for the evening. Our photographer is booked, along with the lady making our cake. Invites are due to be ready in September. I have my dress, bridesmaids have theirs and my partner has even been and chosen his suits. Florist is provisionally booked and I have arranged to meet with them in a few weeks as they are also doing the centrepieces. I am in the process of organising make up for the day and hair is next on the list ?

It's so exciting isn't it? How is everyone else getting on with planning?

I can't believe how quick the time is passing!

Hi everyone! Another one for May 21st here. We've pretty much booked the 'big' things ie venues, photographer, car, entertainment etc. just have the videographer to book. I ordered my dress last weekend which is being custom made so can now start looking at how I'd like my hair and makeup etc. Hope your all enjoying every minute of this planning stage too :-) x

    Seems 21st is quite popular!

My H2B and a lot of our friends and family are big football fans so was quite disappointed to find out the FA Cup Final was the day of the wedding!! Here's hoping Crystal Palace, Tottenham or Liverpool arent in the final!!

Haha, we were going to have a similar problem with ours and the Champions League final, but decided to have the wedding on the Sunday of the bank holiday weekend instead (not exactly for this reason, but it was an added bonus!). We will be adding the odd football related touch to our day though... there is a giant (fake) bear in the bar of the venue who will definitely be wearing a Liverpool scarf!

Giving notice is going to the register office in your district and presenting your credentials to ensure that you're free and legal to get married. If you're getting married in church you don't have to do it, you'll have your bans read instead. We did ours a few weeks ago so we're all cleared ready for our wedding next year.

Is anyone else not really enjoying the planning? I'm finding it stressful, I'm indecisive. I'm worrying about paying for it all, I'm worrying about keeping everyone entertained all afternoon (there will be quite a lot of small-ish kids - from a few weeks old, several toddlers and then 3-4 year olds), plus I work full time and I have 2 small children (aged 1 and 3) who take up all my time outside work.

Oh ok thank you! Yeah it's church so we knew about the banns, so thank you.

BIB, yes. I thought it was going to be really fun, but, BM's don't like any dresses (all have different styles), don't even want to think about shoes. My mum says our invites are wrong, don't even understand that one, we need fruit cake because "it's the thing". Seeing how organised everyone is, now worrying that I've left some things too late.

We are having a few kids too, so we're having a kiddies table, with colouring in books, some toys and cause it's not going on late, they can leave at bedtime.

I'm the 21st too! What a great day to get married!

We only got engaged on 13th June but so far we've done:

    Venue

    Registrar and giving notice

    Photographer

    Florist

    Band

Next jobs are my dress and invitations, then groom and best men outfits. I'm thinking about leaving the MOH and flower girl dresses until the new year, when the spring collections are in the shops. It still feels like ages away but I know the next few months will fly by! I'm already feeling a bit sad for when it's over, is that weird?!!

I know, kinda like an opposite dobbelganger. As I pressed reply, I saw your joined date, please tell me you didn't get engaged on New years? If you did, I may really panic ? cause that's when we did.

Hello fellow May brides, really glad to see this thread has popped up!

Getting married on May 29th and although the major things have been booked (venue, registrar, photographer, band), I'm starting to feel like time is slipping away far too quickly!

Still soooo much to do... has anyone done the menu tasting yet to pick what menu you're having - I'm not sure when is best to do it.

    Hi bridetobe's!

    I'm 28th May next year - eeeeeeek!

We've done lots but it still feels like there's lots left to do! What i can THINK of left is:

    Bans read out

    Wedding rings

    Send invitations

    Design table plan

    Choose music, hymns and readings

    Mens suits

    DIY fiddly 'bits'

START PRE WEDDING DIET AND FITNESS PLAN!!! ?

It's a weird time at the moment I feel... Too far away to get too nervous and start really worrying but also close enough to be busy with stuff! Argh!

Looking forward to catching up on this thread!

Lots of love to all the May brides!!! ?

    Hello lovely ladies,

Our wedding is Sunday 29th May, seems a very popular date!

We're getting married at The Morritt Arms, Greta Bridge Smiley smile

We got engaged 4th September last year on our 5 year anniversary, can't believe it's almost been a year! And we booked our venue last November, we had 18 months than and now only 9! Eek!

Don't know if I feel organised or not! Lol! When I write a list it seems I've done a lot but with how fast the time is passing I feel like we need to be more organised!

    We have....

    Venue booked

Registrar deposit paid (i paid this in January, does anyone know if I need to contact them again now there is less than a year to go?)

    Flowers sorted (I'm a florist!)

    Photographer booked

Invites, etc sorted (we're DIYing these)

    Entertainment booked

    Hair booked (I think!)

MUA decided on just need to pay deposit

My dress is on order, due to arrive October/November

    My jewellery is bought

Candy cart sorted (we have one at work!)

So we just need to sort suits, shoes, cake, flower girl's outfit (no bridesmaids for me!), give notice, few more bits and pieces for room decor (decorating ourselves on the morning with pom poms and lanterns), rings, music, readings and gifts (I think!) Have I forgotten anything obvious?

Looking forward to hearing all your lovely plans Smiley smile

    Jen xx

We're getting married on the 29th May in Turkey.

Having the wedding abroad means I don't have too much to organise myself, as they just ask what sort of colours we want etc and then they do the rest....bingo!

Only just gave birth to our 2nd gorgeous little boy so still not tried on any dresses yet.....eek!

I absolutely love Naomi Neoh dresses but they're a bit of a stretch price wise I think :-(. I could afford to splash out and buy it but with 2 children I just feel guilty spending so much on myself! Don't think I can justify £2800!

Can't wait though, these 9 months will fly by a lot quicker than the the last 9 pregnant months, that's for sure!

Hey, I'm not a Bride but I'm getting married in May 2016 to my (male) partner, hopefully I can join in? ?

Don't have as much to plan as you girls as the wedding will be fairly non-traditional for obvious reasons, plus we're only having 10 guests as we wanted a really small intimate day (plus the venue is really expensive!)

So far, venue booked, notice given, rings bought, photographer booked. Honeymoon not booked yet. Still need to sort out outfits, a cake (though not a 'wedding' cake, just a nice cake) and maybe the odd flower here and there, my biggest stress at the moment is deciding on music and readings. We'll have a menu tasting closer to the time. I'm not sure what else is needed?

Unlike most of you I haven't been mentally planning a wedding for most of my life, in fact quite the opposite assuming it was never going to happen so I don't have any particular mental image of how it should be etc, which makes planning it quite stressful! Apparently you're meant to have a colour scheme!? ?

    Taken some time to get going but we have;

Venue (package with food / bar / dj / room decorator)
    Photographer
    MUA
    Dress

Currently trying to decide on a colour scheme! How did you girls choose?!
