For photographers try checking your venues page on Facebook, I've found with mine whenever there's been a wedding the togs tag some pics. it's a good way of seeing different styles and who is popular with your actual venue.

See I think that's our biggest problem, we don't know what style, just nice and normal I suppose, so more natural. That's actually helped thank you. I agree about the company logo everywhere, something a bit uninclusive.

Regarding the recommended photographer, he's based in Cambridge, and we're getting married in Surrey, which is why I was asking if local is better, and their facebook doesn't have any wedding pictures. I think lazybride is on to something by meeting them first.

    Thank you for the replies.

Our TOG is based in Surrey and he is the preferred supplier for our venue so to be honest it was quite easy for us. His name is Simon Pope and company is called Be Unveiled. He does more natural shots which is what we liked.

Haha of course! Sorry! the hotel does have another resident TOG - Hayley Bray - maybe try her.

To be honest, both were on par and it came down to the fact i spoke to Simon at the wedding show as Hayley was busy

Wow that's awesome news Smiley smile what style is it?

Can I be a bit smug? After months of "can do that later" finally got our arses in gear I found the dress yesterday, we like the second photographer who we saw tonight (third and final one has to be outstanding to beat them) and going to Germany this weekend for fmil's birthday and hoping due to the Euro being weak atm to get our rings too and save a bit of money. Oh and first bits of decoration for venue arrived yesterday too. This is all starting to feel ever so real now.

    How's everyone else getting on?

Sounds like you're getting on well Tidal Wave!

My dress is Bellissima by Maggie Sottero. I've been having a few wobbles so I'm really nervous about seeing it again!

I've just googled it and it looks lovely, really love the sleeve detail. Really don't worry about it, most people have the dress wobble especially the what if it looks horrible on me. Remember you choose it and ordered it for a reason so yes doubts will come back, because human nature is a *** sometimes, but you never would have paid a deposit and waited this long for an alright dress.

Boro_Bex, don't worry, I did exactly the same thing!

After we'd paid the deposit I felt physically sick for 2 solid days thinking I'd made a huge mistake!

Buuuuuut I got the call in September to say my dress had arrived and went to try it on the 29th and fell in love all over again! And I realised I'd worried for nothing and if anything I now love it even more!

PS. Had a Google of your dress, it's beautiful! Love the back detail Smiley smile

Wow, just found this thread! So many lovely date twins! We're getting married on the 21st of May and now we're steadily approaching the 6 month mark I find myself getting butterflies (might just be panic though!) at random moments! Any of you ladies and gents feeling the same?

    Hello Date Twin!!!

    Where are you getting married?

I cannot believe it is nearing 6 months already eeeekkkk!

Getting more nervous by the day i think, the bit i am dreading the most is walking down the aisle in front of everyone, i keep having dreams about things going wrong at that part, falling over being the consistent dream (well maybe nightmare is more appropriate)

How is everyone else getting on?

We're getting married in Thornham on the North Norfolk Coast. I feel that the big stuff is pretty much sorted but after Christmas we'll be meeting with all of the suppliers we've booked, then there's dress fittings and hair/make up trials and it doesn't seem like there's enough time, hence the panicky feelings!

I keep worrying that I'm going to "ugly cry" all the way down the aisle and through the vows! Even thinking about it makes me feel all emotional! ???

Got our meeting with the caterer next week ?

    Hello fellow May 2016 brides.

I also get married on 21 May.

My fiance proposed over 2 years ago so have been planning for a long time. I have had almost a year without having to do anything.

It's finally near enough to start planning again though which is very exciting.

Another date twin! Have you got much left to organise? I bet you've got almost everything sorted by now! Where are you getting married?

Last night I dreamt that I was having my hair trial and when I looked in the mirror the hairdresser had made my hair into a wedding cake..... CRAAAAAZZZZZYY! I was not happy, lol!

I bet wedding cake hair is a key trend for 2016 lol.

Yeah 95% is done and has been for a while. Only things still to do are the groom and Groomsmen suits (and that's because it's the other half's job) and picking the flowers nearer the time when we know what is in season. I have my hair and makeup trial on 8th December and am excited and terrified in equal measure. Then going to try my dress on again that afternoon.

We are getting married at Ashridge House in Hertfordshire. How about you?

Wedding cake hair! Sounds like we are all having the weird dreams!

I dreamt the other day that my dress went missing and i was running around the hotel in a black bin liner trying to find it - clearly I don't own any other clothes haha....

We are pretty much there on the organising, we have booked and paid deposits for the main stuff! I've booked my hair and make-up trial, dress is in so just fittings now, need accessories/jewellery for me but its mainly the fiddly/lst minute stuff that we need to do that we cant actually do yet anyway.

I'm getting married at Wotton House in Dorking

??? six months on Saturday for us! Can't believe it! We're sending out invitations at the end of this month as all of our family have a long way to travel and will need to book accommodation plus it's going to be half term so I expect the hotels up on the Norfolk coast will be fairly busy. Hopefully we'll get our RSVP's back by the end of January.

    How about you?

I've just ordered our invites. We're sending them in January with an RSVP date of mid March. We may bump some evening guests to the day depending on the number of declines so we've ordered some spare invitations with an RSVP date of mid April and that's our evening RSVP date too.

I've just had a phone call from the dress shop to say that my bridesmaid dress is no longer available in one of the colours I wanted. I'm gutted, this was the only dress we'd seen that had everything we were looking for, it was really flattering and came in the exact two colours I was looking for.

Hi all - long time since I've been on here. Slowly making headway with the wedding to do list! We're sending invites in Jan to get past the christmas post - going to order the star wars stamps as Fiancee is a fan!! We sent save the dates so hopefully most people will have it in their diaries. We're setting mid-march for responses, though will be encouraging those with kids to let us know asap as we can add some evening only guests if they don't want to bring their kids.

We got invites designed by someone on Etsy for £25, only snag is she was from the US & they don't do a separate evening only invite version, but my friend is a clothing designer so is going to copy it to make some almost identical for evening guests. My fiancee works in print industry so will call in some favours for getting them printed.

Am totally failing on the diet front was going to slimming world but find the classes soooooo boring, so think i'll get re-motivated with a 2 day fasting type plan in the new year, want to lose about a stone so should be possible in time, just hope they don't ring and tell me the dress has arrived early jan!!

For the invites we're sending out invites in late Jan/early Feb time (did the save the dates in July), our venue needs them 2 weeks before, but we are going to say 8 weeks before, which gives people 2 months, and then gives us a nice time cushion to nudge people if needed.

I had my meeting last week for our invites and they said just after Christmas is best for a May wedding with rsvp end of February, the thinking is if you give people too long they put it to one side and think they'll get round to it and then run the risk of everyone being last minute or late getting back. I don't have a clue so just going to follow their advise I think.

    Hi all!

    We're getting married on 28th May 2016.

We will be sending the invites and RSVP's out in early January and will be asking for the replies back by the end of February!

I'm hoping to have a Christmas crafts evening with my mum on Christmas eve to put all the bits together ready for posting in January.

Other than that, left to do we have mens suits, wedding cars and sorting out the order of service.

    Oh and gifts for everyone.

    Aghhhh x
