Thanks for the veil and tiara tips girls. Will have a look in a min. We haven't had this years menu and prices from hotel yet, which we need before we can confirm package we want. Will ring up and nag if they don't arrive by end of month. Getting anxious about invites again now with all this deadline talk for rsvps ?

I'm getting married7th May and hopingti get invitations out towards the end of next month. We sent Save the Dates anyway so hopefully people have kept it free. That's plenty of time I think x

I wouldn't panic if you've sent save the dates.

We didn't which is why we sent a little bit earlier than usual.

Also selfishly we thought it would save on stamps by giving to people we saw over Christmas and new year. Our invites are quite heavy though and post office say 93p each to send, every penny counts at the moment haha!

Yeah we've sent save the dates to day guests, it's more people knowing where it is and booking rooms before the hotel release them that worries me, but hey people can look after themselves I have enough to worry about ratter than worry for them!!

We sent our invitations early(ish) even though we sent save the dates last May. I'm glad we did, as it turns out there is some sort of bird watching convention nearby the weekend of our wedding and one of the hotels is already fully booked! If all of our guests were local I probably would have left it a bit later.

I have absolutely no idea! They are pocketfolds with 3 inserts and an RSVP reply envelope, we've also mounted the invite onto the pocketfold and added a ribbon with a pearl embellishment. They are quite heavy but wasnt expecting 93p!! haha

Ours were 93p as well, they sound similar to yours. It's a good thing we don't have many that need to be posted!

I can't believe some of the invites were 93p postage. I assume that's only inland and not abroad ?

We get the fun task of writing them all out this weekend. As there's a few overseas he's going to ask about postage for inland when weighing the abroad ones. However double sided a6 postacard, a6 info card smaller rsvp card fingers crossed postage isn't too bad.

Ahh wow! How are you getting on with those MrsLBtoB? I'm spending today making presents for my Bridesmaids, I'm very almost there. I've learned how to use a sewing machine and learned how to sew in a zip especially! It definitely brings about a sense of achievement when something is hand made and you've learned how to make it especially! :-)
Our invites went out last Sunday, we've started to get RSVPs back but only a few, everyone LOVED the invites, I was so pleased after all the work I put into them!
We've got our second menu tasting this week on 99 days to go which is a lovely coincidence. It's a second menu tasting because our reception venue have a new head chef and a new menu so we get to choose from two menus and we can mix and match so that's good!
I've got the bridesmaids coming over next weekend too, because some of them have only met on a couple of occasions and it's a great excuse to see everyone :-) one of my bridesmaids has recently announced she's having a baby too so that's really exciting! :-) she already bought a dress that's a few sizes too big before telling me, which saved me a bit of panic! Bless her!
I think that's most things for now, we're also in the process of deciding all the things involved in the ceremony, there's just so much to do! ?

Lets just say attempt one wasnt great..... I think the wire i bought it too think as it was quite hard to bend it... The wording is just about eligible.... but not my proudest DIY attempt....

Ahhh its so nice getting positive feedback when you've spent so long on them. So pleased for you Smiley smile

Its so exciting when RSVP's come back!!!

We had our menu tasting confirmed last week for 9th March, just got to pick what to try now! Lucky you getting 2 tastings!!

Ohhh how lovely about your BM - so exciting Smiley smile and 1 less thing for you to worry about if she bought a bigger dress in preparation!

So much to do and so little time...... ahhhhh

Only 83 days for us ? I'm so excited though!

We've got about half of our RSVPs back, we have arranged suit fittings for the boys and it just so happens that I have a dress fitting on the same day then my hair trial is the day after. I've also planned to go shopping with my Mum for my make up and jewellery and a fascinator and bag for her. We have a wedding evening at the church this week so we can listen to the music on the organ, and ask any questions that we have and I have my birthday too this week which is exciting! I've also started to design the table plan and a few other bits for the reception. The flowers are mostly finalised and we've paid for half of the reception costs and for the honeymoon. It's all happening and is very exciting!

    96 days for us.

Before I forget happy birthday HappyBlueConfetti257!

Sounds like everyone is coming along nicely, I think we're pretty much done, apart from thinking of table decorations and a guestbook. Once all the rsvp's are done work on the seating plan. Going for my fitting next month, and will need a few before the wedding meetings, other than that. Although OH bless him, I had my "nothing is done or ready" panic about the 6 month mark, now completely calm, him on the other hand, "it's only 3 months to go we need to do everything" so trying to calm him down, with saying as long we both say yes, and no one dies, it'll be fine.

Anyone having a finger print tree guestbook? If so, are you placing a normal book next to it, so people can still write something, or is it either or?

    Hi everyone!

I'm a bit late to the party, but am also getting married on the 21st of May and thought it would be good to join up and get excited with other brides, as I'm one of the first of my friends to tie the knot and I feel a bit like everyone is a bit meh about it at the moment!

How's everyone getting along with the planning? x

We're having a fingerprint tree but I don't think we'll have a book, just the prints with the guests names on.

Welcome BusyBee, looks like 21st of May is VERY popular for weddings this year! We obviously all have fantastic taste!

I'd agree that you should probably just do one or the other, as it seems to be hard enough to get people to contribute to one thing - everyone always seems to be too busy eating and drinking!

Thanks for the welcome ExpensivePinkCars ? Are you all ready for the big day?!

Thank you for the Birthday wishes Tidal Wave! I had a lovely day yesterday, I was at work as normal but then my Sister, Mum and H2B's sister came round for tea and cake and I opened cards etc. It was lovely.

My H2B bought me Chloe perfume and body lotion that I want to wear for the wedding so that's exciting! I used to wear it everyday but I ran out of it so I thought it'd be nice to have a break from wearing it then wear it on the wedding day and I'll notice the scent more! :-)

Welcome BusyBee! I hope your planning is coming along well, what are you working on at the moment?

    Xxxx

    Oh that sounds so nice!

Busybee, never late to the party, and also echoing expensivecars - excellent choice of date ?

Yeah it is probably too much work, just I love the idea of a permanent artwork, but same time I know 80-90% guests will want to write something more than their names. It's a hard one between wanting what we want and what other people want, plus both our best mates had books and we loved writing in them. First world wedding problems hehe.

Hi fellow May brides! 2.5 months to go, its going to come round so fast!

Looking for some advice on flowers from you lovely ladies :-) I I'm in ivory as are my flower girls, bridesmaids in light pink, men in mid blue suits and for the flowers i was going to go with powder blue hydrangeas, ivory roses, gyp and pale pink roses but feel it may lack a bit of punch aginst all of the pale colours. Any of you having a contrast colour? I'm thinking bright pink roses with the other colours remaining. i have a florist - just looking to finalise things.

    This was original inspiration;

Ahh gosh, I have 75 days today, it's so exciting! So much to do, so little time.

Regarding the flowers, I think it depends on what general look you're going for. The flowers in the photo look gorgeous and would go well with the pastel dresses, they'd look lovely against your ivory dress! If you were to go for bright pink, it might look like quite a lot of pink and turn your colour scheme into a pink colour scheme rather than just pastels. It all depends on what kind of look you're going for. Personally, I'd go for the pastels, I guess you could mix in a few brighter colours so that it doesn't look too washed out?

I've got a bit of a mixture of a colour scheme with my H2B is wearing a duck egg blue cravat, the boys are wearing navy suits, his groomsmen in ivory cravats. I have duck egg blue somewhere on my dress (;-) secrets!) we have duck egg blue chair ribbons, but then the Bridesmaids are wearing navy floral 50s style dresses with petticoats, the flowers on those dresses have a mixture of colours including a coral colour so our flowers are mostly coral and white, with a touch of blue. Now that's a long explanation for our colour scheme!! haha!

Ps. I wrote a post about my excitement for our honeymoon (on the honeymoons/weddings abroad board) I don't think anyone has read it! But long story short, we changed our honeymoon hotel to a more luxurious hotel which was adults only, all inclusive and looks GORGEOUS! We only changed it at the beginning of last week and I found out at the weekend (after looking back at the photos everyday since we changed it Smiley heart) that it is sold out for the time that we're going! It was obviously meant to be that we changed it when we did!
