May Brides!!

GeordieBarbie, 6 March, 2010 at 19:09 Posted on Planning 0 18

I'm jealous of all the other months having a thread and not us! ?

How are we all? 11 weeks today for me ?

This coming week I plan to sort out the wedding rings. Want to go to the shop and check and then order online so I can get BA miles ?

What's everyone else up to?

    Hey GB!

Got so much to do this week. Going to run my readings and music (which I still haven't chosen) by the registrar to check they're ok. We're writing our vows and will check them this week too. Next week is dedicated to gift lists and stationery making - going to make a start on placecards, OODs, wish tree stuff - got all the bits and pieces, made the design, just need to get started.

Told Jumbly Boy to choose my ring cos I can't and I keep getting drawn to the blingiest rings in the shop.... So hopefully he'll sort that this week.

We've chosen our wine, so going to purchase that tomorrow.

Going to start sending out my CV so that I can sort my life out (eek!).

Just got in touch with the band and musicians for the ceremony, so just ironing out their requirements. Plus RSVPs are due in next weekend, so we'll be sending out our second batch of invites because loads of our friends and family are OFFICIALLY rubbish.

My diary for March looks ridiculous! Going underwear shopping on Wednesday, food tasting the week after, got to do my dress fitting and OH's suit fitting, need to buy shoes for the evening and parent/usher gifts, wait for the last few RSVPs and then start chasing (RSVP date is this Friday and as of this evening only 45% have responded), need to finalise details with the registrar, make the list for the photographer and playlist for the DJ. Added on to that Mothers Day, Mums birthday, parents wedding anniversary and quite a few friends and family birthdays it's crazy!

I'm May, but May 2011, so have everything left to do!

That said, we reserved the date with our vicar and the venue yesterday so a few things done. Am just feeling miserable as it's my birthday but I'm ill so can't celebrate.

Wow Geordiebarbie you're venue is certainly unique and your dress is lovely.

I'm a May bride too, but next year. I'm wanting blue shoes (my something blue), where did you get the pink ones from?

Hello All! ? It's getting closer! Wooo!

So I managed to get the bridesmaid presents sorted on Sunday - pinky pearl necklaces from M&S ? I've also decided what to get my parents - a photo frame for Mam and cufflinks for Dad (both engraved). So a start on the presents!

This week I plan to sort out the rings if D can make it into town this week (ended up having a crisis at work last week and we never got there.) but he's ill at the mo so fingers crossed!

Still need to chose the white wine but the diet prevents us drinking therefore we are unable to sample at the mo!

I still need my underwear. Seen what I want just holding off getting it due to afore-mentioned diet! (7.5l;bs lost in 3 weekjs - another 5 weeks to go!). My first dress fitting is on 17th April so I will try on my whole outfit to check whether my Nana's pearls go with the dress, if not, need a necklace. But that's me sorted really!

Still need to finalise the readings we want and the vegetarian option for dinner then I can print off the OOS and menus (asked a guest to choose the veggie option - just waiting for a reply!)

Other than that I think we're pretty much done! ?

Roll on 10 weeks and 5 days!

You can indeed. We're doing the Tesco Diet (www.tescodiets.com). It's really easy to use and I eat so much! It's a calorie controlled diet (I'm allowed 1200 a day) and I eat breakfast, lunch, dinner and a snack (though sometimes I'm too full for my snack!!). You have to pay £29.90 for 8 weeks but the website is fab and i'd never have been able to do it without it. It's a money back guarantee that you'll lose a stone in 8 weeks. t I was looking to lose about a stone so this was fab for me however it has me down to lose 1st 5lbs in that time!! I'd be happy with a stone TBH (though iI was much heavier than i thought!)

Sorry all May brides - I have to love you and leave you! I'm now a June 2011 bride instead!!

Got our venue and registrar booked. That's all we're doing for a few months as there's well over a year to get things sorted.

    Good Luck to everyone!

Hi! I haven't been able to think of a list all week...so I'm going to try extra hard now!

    • Still waiting on alterations girl to get back to me, slowly losing patience
    • RSVP's are coming in consistantly, though it looks like none of my family are going since they are all so slow lol
    • Going to get marriage application signed by the minister this weekend & get him to help with OOS
    • Going to visit the venue this weekend, to sort of finalise choices, & get a max amount £ that everything will cost. My parents will also do some negotiation with corkage etc.
    • Hopefully hear back this weekend from my friend thats organising most of my hen night.
    • Shirts for men are almost chosen
    • need to buy dad presents & best man
    • still to do the OOS
    • hmmmm, need to think more
