Maybe a bit ocd

samidolls, 18 August, 2015 at 11:05 Posted on Planning 0 8

I'm bored at work today, so I've started to make a seating plan for the ceremony! I'm a little bit too organised, everything else is pretty much sorted or as sorted as it can be, so my brain keeps coming up with ideas for other things to organise!!!

Haha don't worry, I've done mine and we haven't even sent the invites yet! I was just playing around with it... it's perfect except MIL wants one table split up which is 2 groups of 4 so that's going to prove a pain (one family member is a bit odd and no-one wants to sit with him!!).

Not OCD at all Smiley smile

At first I thought you meant the table plan, then I saw that it was for the ceremony, so maybe a little ocd lol. We are just having people sit where they like, are you going to have names on the seats or something?

The sooner the better with this beast! I've got about six variations of my seating plan now, and still not happy with it!!

We need to reserve the front few rows for bridal party/family. But I have 3 bridesmaids and my 2 parents and he has 2 grooms men 4 parents and 2 brothers and 2 sisters. The there's people who are witnesses or doing readings and we need to strategically place somebody to control the music, and all this with only 8 seats per row, 4 seats per side!

once I started I just got a bit carried away.....

Our venue is reserving the first two rows for us for the bridal party and other than that people are just sitting where they like. I've never been to a wedding with a ceremony seating plan but no harm in it I suppose.

We did a reservation for the front 3 rows but only after the meeting with registrar made us realise we had to really!

I've been married before donkey's years ago. Had a church wedding and no reserved seating etc. my aunt walked in with her two kids (annoyed because they were not bridesmaids) and plonked herself down on the front row just as I was coming in. When dad gave me away he had nowhere to sit down at the front. Fuming wasn't in it. All stop while we made her move lol.

theres always one. Reserve seats at the front for key players I say!

First of all, that's not OCD, and it's super offensive to use it as a term to describe being mega organised. Sorry, to be an internet stickler, but this really gets to me.

Second of all, this is a good idea, we never thought about it and I was told afterwards that in the minute before we came into the room the ushers from the venue were hastily moving people away from the front rows where they had sat into sets further back, so the BMs would have somewhere to sit!
