Maybe a bit random - skincare tips for my back!!

rach_217, 16 October, 2015 at 14:51 Posted on Planning 0 13

Wondering if anyone may be able to help or has any tips for making the best of your back? I'm talking skincare, I'm ok with exercise, toning it up but I've always had a bit of a spotty back and my dress has a really low back and I want it to look great!!

Its not really bad or anything but as with anything is brides want to look our best on our big day, any tips gratefully received xxx

Are we talking the odd tiny weeny spot or big spots?

you could try an antibacterial shower gel. Exfoliate with a loofah. Get your h2b to rub moisturiser in (probably un scented maybe) to get your skin as nice and soft as possible. If you do a sweaty job don't wear cotton. All supposed to be good for spotty backs.

i would guess it's all for backs much spottier than yours actually is but it won't hurt will it.

Ahh thanks Jayne that's fab, will definitely try some of those! I would only really say they are small blemishes rather than big spots so it's nothing awful - just wanted to try and improve its appearance!

If it's not back acne you probably only need to start exfoliating and moisturising. Job for h2b!

I went to a private dermatologist and got diagnosed with acne on my face and back. I have had adult spots which never cleared up despite trying most things.

I was prescribed epiduo and advised not to exfoliate with creams as they are not non comedogenic which means they clogg pores.

My skin is now better than ever and I now haven't worn makeup for over three months.

I scratched the acne on my back as a teenager like a mad thing. I have a lot of scarring. I have been exfoliating with a body scrub and using Bio Oil which I expensive but very good. It's most effective on recent scars but I'm now happy to show my back in my strapless dress and I wasn't before. I've been doing this routine religiously since Xmas.

    All the best

Wilkinsons do their own bio-oil for a quid or so, and it is as good as the branded stuff.

When washing hair in shower if the shampoo/conditioner doesnt wash off properly when it runs down your back this can cause spots so nust make aure u rinse ur body off aswell as your hair. If that makes sense

Defo what poster above said conditioner can cause spots. Make sure your washing your back properly and exfoliating as others said. My boyfriend gets back ache and my mum bought Australian bodycare wash from QVC its tea tree oil I think and really helps clear up spots as its obviously anti bacterial. I have read few places that Clarins Renew-Plus Body Serum is used by a lot of brides and meant to be amazing as smoothing out skin.

Ooh thanks Jessyka and RachD - I reckon I could be guilty of not properly washing shampoo of my back so I'll be conscious of that and may take a look at the Clarins you mentioned, an excuse for a treat! ??

I have the same with spotty shoulders and think it all boils down to my hair being longer - it's such a pain.

Probably just echo everything that the above people have said - especially on the tea tree oil/witch hazel front. Supposed to be amazing.
