Men's Ties

pdmac8, 7 October, 2009 at 19:23 Posted on Planning 0 4

Have just started looking at suits and was wondering of anyone had any opinions on the ties?

I can't decide between a Cravat, Euro Tie or a Rouche (if thats how its spelt?)

What do they all mean and do they have any significance?

I like the cravat's and rouche (the rouche being my preference) my OH is wearing highland dress at our wedding and has opted to wear a rouche as will the rest of the men in the wedding party, there seems to be alot of people going for this option at the moment, bow ties seem to be quite popular too.

Hiya, have you been into a shop and tried any of them on? My H2B was adamant he didnt want a cravat or rouche, he wanted a tie. Then when he tried it on it looked like he was going into the office lol!

I love the rouche personally...although what weve done with ours is every mamber of the grooms party is wearing a different style of tie, but all in the same colour, so rouche for me, normal tie for FOB, bow tie for usher, cravat for other usher...

    Hi,

Here is an image of each:

    TIE: http://www.bunneyblog.com/2009/09/new-ideas-blue-and-bluegold.html

    WINDSOR CRAVAT: http://www.bunneyblog.com/2009/09/new-ideas-double-breasted-waistcoat.html

ROUCHE CRAVAT (Scrunchy Cravat Style): http://www.bunneyblog.com/2009/09/new-ideas-brown-and-ivory-on-ivory.html

A Euro Tie is more of a Plastoron which looks like one of these : https://www.jackbunneys.co.uk/Made_To_Order_Suits.htm

The rouche tie has been the standard style for a number of years now.. However I love a normal tie and with more and more tailored lounge suits being worn for weddings the regular tie is making a come back. Nearly half of the weddings I have out this weekend are with regular ties.

The wedding I have always pictured is a black tie wedding. However, at the place I want it, it is $14,000 for saturday night, and $6,000 (everything cake, open bar, etc. included for 130 people) for sunday afternoon. That is a lot of money for two 22 year olds. Is it still okay to make it black tie in the afternoon? The ceremony is 11:30 to noon and reception noon to 4. Thanks for your help
