Menu choices- very pleased!! And candy buffets...

izzy_on_the_rocks, 2 April, 2011 at 19:27 Posted on Planning 0 5

Yeah new venue is sorted PLUS we get to offer guests a pretty good menu choice! (now all we have to do is pick the dishes lol)

Starter - choice of two

Main - choice of 4, red meat, white meat, fish and veggie.

Dessert - choice of two

Kids also have nice selection to choose from.

We are also going for a buffet in the evening and now I'm wondering about maybe adding in a candy buffet as well for all those with a sweet tooth. Anybody had/having one of these? Did it go down well or not? And how much do you allow per person? Will also go search for candy buffet on here as I am sure others have posted about them.

Thank god the venue is sorted. And the invites/OoS are in the making.

A good day I think!

Sounds good that you get to pick.

We are having a sweety buffer attached to the end of the main buffet table. We're allowing 50-100g per person, but banking on only about 75% of people eating it, so for 150 people we are having 10 medium sized glasss which will be full.

My brother went to the wedding of a 38 year old and they had a sweety buffet, but no kids, and most of the guests were over 35 and it didn't go down at all, my brother used the term "hardly touched". We however have 20 kids and lots of young adults so I think it will work well for us.

    Hiya,

Thanks for reply, we have a similar guest make-up as you so I think it should work...if not I will just have to eat all the sweeties myself ?.

Was unsure if should have it laid out at drinks reception or with the buffet but I think your timing is better or the kids will not manage their dinner.

Oh just self indulgence now but so far we have opted for beef, turkey, sea bass and prawns, veggie option pending. Kids can have anything from hotel kids menu or a half portion of the adult menu...am very chuffed, didn't expect to get a choice never mind such a vaired one

    xx

We've just today decided to have one too and I've ordered:

Tongue Painter Lollipops - 150 Pack Fizz Wiz Popping Candy Cherry Flavour - 50 Pack Sherbet Filled Flying Saucers - 300 Pack Barratt Fruit Salad And Black Jack Mix - 600g Tub Haribo Jelly Babies - 600 Pack A Jar of Creamy Butterscotch Toffee - 1.3 Kg Jar White Chocolate Flavour Mice - 600g Tub

Will have to see what it looks like when it's all here and decide if I need to order more. I'm so excited about the tongue painter lollies. The little shop at college used to sell them, and we'd all stock up on the blue ones and spend our afternoon lectures sticking brightly coloured tongues out at the tutors when they weren't looking. Childish, yes but bloody funny!
