Menu Tasting

How many of you get this option? Our venue wont let us do a menu tasting , im a really big foody and its important to me that the food tastes great. Our venue isn't exactly the cheapest and we will be spending a fair amount on the day due to a full rugby club being there. How would you go about...

    Indeed.

Which is why, when choosing a wedding venue, I paid very careful attention to the quality of food.... Smiley winking

I'm a total fatty foodie so I booked with a caterer I knew was great. Would never have occured to me to book someone I didn't know then worry about it later.. you know ,becasue I'm a foodie like that.

Actually, I've got some steaks in the freezer he gave me for free - going to have them for dinner tomorrow night just to check.

I looked at the venue, went to view the venue and then fell inlove with the venue before they had chance to even greet me with a hand shake. That's all I can say...... heart over head!

Me to Smiley smile, the reviews are all very good. I think I just had a little panic.

According to the wedding co-ordinator I get to sit down with the chef and build a menu that suits us & They allow outside caterers aswell, so if needed I can always go down that route. Hope I don't have to ofcourse but that will teach me for not thinking things through before saying yes and handing over the cheque.

    Fark me.

They switched from saying you could taste the menu by booking a meal on Valentine's day to giving you a session with the chef to design a bespoke menu, plus food for free.

Won't the chef be cooking for the rest of the patrons?

And what on earth did you say in that email?

Gift of the gab Smiley winking lol... I wish!

I wont be talking to the chef on Valentines day it will be closer to the wedding date haha.

All I asked was, is it only Valentines day they offer as I would like to eat there even if we have to pay. When she replied I shouted yes!! with a clenched fist and rang my mum on a major hyper High Smiley laugh. (Easily Excited).
It's not just me that's getting a bespoke menu, they offer it anyway.... which I didn't know until the email came through.

Perhaps a slight sense of Violet Elizabeth Bott?

I'm sure it is all in the writing style. I wouldn't worry about it. Glad your food is now sorted.

"I am allowed". See annoying advert where small child is pretending to be a chef and demands piri piri sauce. Quote "I am allowed"

As I alluded to on your previous thread on this subject, I will venture that there are some who are mildly amused at your declaration of being a "foody" yet failing to ensure that this apparently defining aspect of your personality was catered for (pun intended) on your wedding day - something which belies your "foody" credentials, by the way - then bemoaning your lot that you wouldn't be able to taste the food before the day except if you paid, then being really happy because you got a free taster session, which you would have willingly paid for if food really was your passion.

I just find this whole situation confusing. But I am genuinely pleased that you got a good result.

Your entitled to your opinion, but you don't know me to make that judgement.......

"I'll thcream and thcream untill I'm thick!!!" :p lol..... Had to put it in there. Spoiled brat is not my thing, I apologise if I have come across that way.

Like I said I fell inlove with the venue before thinking anything else through.

I tend to act before I think........ I get excited fairly easily, and then run with what I have got!
