Menus

becs1975, 3 October, 2013 at 13:28 Posted on Planning 0 12

Ok, so the wedding is only 5 weeks away. How did that happen??? ? Anyway, all these last minute detail issues keep cropping up, which is to be expected, but this is the latest one.

We are having a set 3 course wedding breakfast, so everyone, apart from the veggie and my nan, is having the same. So do I have on the tables, one printed out menu, or a menu for each person? And how do I present it on the table, in the middle, like the table number? I suppose I could have it printed on the table number card, on both sides so all could see it.

Any ideas? I realise this isn't hugely important, but I'm rapidly turning Bridezilla about these kinds of details (I think I really am going a little bit mad, and slightly regretting not buggering off to Gretna Green....)

Each person had an individual menu at ours, attached to their place setting and laid on their napkin. But there was a lot of mixing and matching between meat/veggie choices, so I felt it necessary.

I would just have a printed card with the menu on. Then have two of those per table. You'll find that people pick them up and pass them around anyway so that's more than enough.

    Eddited to add:

How many veggies do you have? If there are a few then individual might be best. Or you could put on the printed menus what the veg option is.

We're in the same boat with the meals, so we've decided to go for two menus on each table! We only have two veggies though so it makes it a bit easier!

I wouldn't worry about having one per person, like other people have suggest a couple is fine, people will take a look and pass it round and that''ll be the end of it! I'd just put it somewhere visible in the centre

I think I'm going to go against the grain... we are having a sort of French inspired wedding and think I'm going to get a rustic chalkboard menu and write the menu on there, so guests see it as they are walking in, maybe near the table plan or something...

What's the point of a menu if there's no choice? ? We aren't having any for this very reason!

We had tables of 8-12 and two *normal* menus on each, and then one veggie for any pesky vegetarians ;o)

We had one each but we had sit down for 26 I probably would not have bothered with one each if we had a lot more guests.

We're having one per person but then we have three choices per course so it makes sense. Otherwise it would be like a work Christmas night out where no-one can remember what they ordered! If you're having a set menu and only 2 people are having different then I would have thought that one or two per table would be absolutely fine.

I think people still want to know what the set menu will be, I know I would like to know what to expect, and the menus also describes all the details, the sauces etc.

I think we will do the 2 menus per table, and we only have one veggie, so she'll have her own one too. Luckilly the starter is roasted butternut squash soup, so that and the dessert will be the same also. ]

    Thanks for all the advice!?
