Mexico V Cuba ??

Kwal, 6 April, 2014 at 23:17 Posted on Honeymoons & Getting Married Abroad 0 9

We have narrowed down our honeymoon destination based on the weather in November and both Mexico and Cuba have come out not too bad considering.

Does anyone have any comments/advice on either (good or bad)??

Thanks Smiley smile

They both sound great for a honeymoon! We wanted to go to Cuba for our honeymoon but couldn't because we are marrying in Las Vegas and you can't get flights direct to Cuba from America. Mexico is amazing, we went there about 5 years ago and had an amazing time. We stayed in Playa Del Carmen which is a pretty little town. The beaches were amazing, lovely food and nice people. There are other things to do if you don't just want to go to the beach with Mayan ruins, Xel Ha which is an aquarium park with lots to do etc.

We've just come back from two weeks in Cuba and it was amazing!

We did the twin centre thing so had 3 nights in Havana to start and then 10 nights at a beach resort in Guardalavaca. Would definitely recommend it.

We booked through Thomas Cook and they were top notch.

If you need any more info, hotels or anything like that just shout.

We spend 10 days in Cuba back in October and loved every second! We did 3 days in Havana and 7 days in varadero. There is loads to do in Havana that we didn't have time to fit in so if you decided on Cuba try and get more than 3 days (we spend 2 half days transferring from airport then to varadero so only actually got 2 whole days).

We booked through the travel counsellors, they were so helpful and always on the end of a phone.

I thoroughly recommend going whilst it is still a communist state and the Americans take over.

The other half and me had the same converstation and have decided on Mexico. It was a really hard choice but it came down to the hotels in the end and also the amount of time would spend in transet. The Mexican hotels had better reviews and the transfer times where a lot shorter, there is also some really great trips we really wanted to go on. We fly out on the 29th April and Can't wait.

We have booked Mexico for our honeymoon we are staying at The Secrets The Vine, it's an adult only hotel in Cancun, I would advise this as all of the other hotels catered a lot for children, Unless you have children and are taking them in your honeymoon of course!

Im in looking forward to visiting the aquamarine parks, swimming with dolphins and visiting the Mayan temples

I love Grand Bahia Príncipe Akumal. Think only Thomson do that hotel though. There 4 hotels in one. If you decide there though be sure to upgrade to the golden club think it's only £60 each more. Well worth it.

my favourite place on the planet.
