Michael Jackson's will

pippin, 29 June, 2009 at 16:36 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 2

There has been word that they can not find Michael Jacksons will. I was just wondering what happens if he had not made one? Do you think it will go to his children or maybe his parents as they may be his next of kin. I keep going on to my parents about the importance of a will but really do not know much about it!!

My Dad died without a will, and I expect he never made one as he didn't have anything to leave really. Next of kin has to apply for probate which gives you the power to shut bank accounts, cancel car insurance etc. I'm not sure what happens if there is stuff to be left to people though, I guess the next of kin get it?

I find that really odd to be honest, where did you hear it?

I'd have thought that with things like the back catalogue being in share with Sony he'd be made to will if he didn't have one. I can't see any big star not having a will when they have legal people on tap.

Well that's different to what was said on Chris Evans tonight (it was part of the business news at 5:30). Apparently he has 2 wills.
