Microsoft Word help

Doughnut, 7 April, 2009 at 17:18 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 8

How do you remove those bloody lines? I notice the 2007 is not improved at all in this area. You know when you do _____ and press enter and it makes it a line across the page? Well, I want it gone. I can't 'undo' as I did a few throughout the document and have worked on it for ages. I don't normally use them as they're pretty much as good as permanent once they're in, but I thought this would have been fixed in 2007.

Er, sorry about that rant there, I have an essay deadline looming! ?

I never even knew that happend - have just tried it. Can you not use a space after the line and then enter?

Or if you delete after entering it takes the full line away and leaves the line you put in.

What do you mean a space after the line? The line goes all the way across the page?

If you can get rid of it once you've got it in, can you let me know how please? ?

No idea - I have tried so many times. I usually end up hiding it with a white box floated over the top to hide it.

Have your cursor on the left of the screen so you get the pointy arrow and then click to highlight the lines on the top and bottom of the line you want to delete - then hit delete.

Does that make sense (I'm not making much sense today)? I just checked it and it worked for me...

I think she just means if you delete the whole line and put in a few ____ and then a space and enter you wont end up with the whole line across.

You can still delete it once entered.

The problem is that I cannot delete the line.

I've googled and sorted it, thanks for the replies.
