That's a good tip, will remember that! If anyone doesn't know, if you get migraines with aura and you're on the combined pill, you need to come off and try another form of contraception, as there's an increased risk of stroke. I had no idea about that until I went to the doctor and mentioned my migraines.

Lying in a hot bath with something cold on your head / under your head (like a pillow) does the same thing.

I use capri suns if I have them, peas if I don't.

Ah lovely thought to let everyone know about!

I suffer from Chronic migraine. I've had a constant headache 24/7 now for 6 years with sickness and dizzyness. When I'm stressed I get a proper migraine with aura on top of that too. Tried just about everything and currently under the care of a neurologist. I really wanted to be fixed by the wedding but it's not looking likely! (although I've been told I'll never be headache free)

I know there is much much worse things to suffer from but it is debilitating and a lot of people who don't suffer from headaches and migraines do not understand at all!

Oh my goodness, how on earth do you cope? Do they have any idea what's causing it? I really hope they manage to help you before your wedding, I can't begin to imagine how difficult that must be for you x

@MrsShep thanks very much! Some days I don’t very well. I have my moments were I’m so narky and hate everything and everyone. I just want to hide in a very dark and quiet room and completely ignore the world! Haha. Thanks for your kind words it really means a lot xx

@Schwelley – it’s good to chat to someone going through something similar isn’t it. I’ve lost friends because of it. One ‘friend’ who I’ve known for 25 years decided to tell me I’m not the same person and quite frankly it’s boring having to deal with me because of my headaches/migraines. I will point out I’ve NEVER cancelled anything and even went to a friends birthday out to pubs when I had loss of vision and couldn’t eat anything. Friendship is really important to me and I don’t want the headaches to rule my life so I push myself on. Most of the time I don’t feel like doing the plans I make but you just have to. How have you found friends and family?

What have you tried for it? I was put on antihistamines for 1 year which didn’t work, then went to an ENT consultant who said I needed to see a neurologist. I’ve been on all sorts of antidepressants, anti epilepsy etc etc drugs that supposedly work for migraine. Nothing except crazy side effects! Currently having botox for it in the scalp and neck… just waiting for round two.

Should also mention I’ve tried sports massages, lots of chiropractic work, acupuncture, physio, diet controlled, and I’ve had jaw surgery (needed it anyway) which they said could work. PHEW!!

Sorry for the MASSIVE post ladies. Feel a bit ME ME ME Smiley surprise it’s just great when people understand and want to listen xxxx

I can't believe your friend said this! Not much of a friend if that's their attitude!

Leannael - I'm sure you've probably been through all of this so I'm unlikely to be much help but I just wanted to mention this just in case.

We have a family friend who had the same problem as you - constant headache/migraine for years. Last year he had some surgery (I want to say on his brain or spine but I'm not certain) and since then his pain has been so much better.

I just wondered if this is something you already knew about, or if you'd like me to try and find out a little more about what he had done, to see if it would be an option for you? I know how awful it was for him to go through so wanted to make sure I'd at least tried to help someone else going through it.

Thanks for the tip, I'll try and remember that next time mine comes back.
Will have to rope OH in to helping me though, I don't have great balance at the best of times!
