Mothers Gifts.....

kacaldwell, 17 May, 2009 at 11:50 Posted on Planning 0 2

Hey

Ok so we didn't want to go for the traditiional gift of flowers for the mothers as they only last so long. I had picked up a little momento in Glasgow a while back

These lovely little compact mirrors come in a lovely cream velvet draw bag. As these are only small items I was looking for something else. something different but something that could be kept.

I came across these books that you give to your mother and they are filled with questions about her life and aspiratiopns. She is supposed to fill it in through the years and at a time chosen by her give you it back for you to read and treasure and possible hand down.I think it sounds like a lovely idea but is it wedding appropriate? Also I think OH's mum might never fill it in. What do you all think?

Thanks in advance.x.x

I think it's lovely. But. You said you wanted something they could keep, and this is something they are supposed to give back to you. It's more a gift for yourself than a gift for them.

    I'm, looking for ideas too!

Not sure about flowers, as we will have HUNDREDS of bunches of beautiful flowers that need homes after the ceremony. And OH's mum will be flying abck to ireland a day or so after wedding, so wont be able to take flowers.

I was thinking maybe something more lasting like a rosebush for my Mum and Stepmother - but still not sure about OHs mum?
