You can make with lamb mince, anyone have any recipes? I could look them up but I want tried and tested. I once made a Delia cottage pie with leek crust and she made me put cinnamon in it and it didn't taste nice ? I could try and knock something together but I want it to taste delicious IYSWIM

    I make lamb kebabs/koftas.

Mix together mince, finely chopped onion, some chopped chilli, S&P, and mint, roll into logs or balls and pop in the fridge for an hour to set. Cook in oven on 190 for 25 mins (turning occasionally) and serve in pitta with tzaszki/mint and cucumber dip/hummous and a greek salad.

    Yummo.

Kofta kebab things? Never done them myself but they seem to involve making meatballs on sticks and grilling them - someone's bound to have a recipe.

ETA - as if by magic...! ?

Another kofta vote - I tend to shallow fry mine, sometimes adding tomatos and making into a tagine.

You can also make Pasticio (Greek pasta dish) with minced lamb, or just some good meaty lamb burgers.

    Lamb Meatballs?

    1 pack of lamb mince
1 onion + 1 clove of garlic - diced and fried until soft
    handfull of breadcrumbs
    Corriander seeds (pounded to dust)
    Bunch of fresh corriander, chopped
    Black Pepper
    Salt
Red Chilli - to taste (finely chopped)

Squidge the lot together, form into little balls, fry off.

Either serve with pasta and a tomato sauce, or in pitta breads with salad and greek yoghurt.

Thanks all. I'm ashamed to admit it but I've never used fresh chillies, I've always been a bit frightened of them. MissSun would be eating whatever I made.

Scrap that, i'm a dullard, I can just make some separate to ours without the chilli - durrr.

    Here you go:

    1 small thumb of ginger

    2 Garlic Gloves

    1 shallott

    1 Mild chilli

    2-3 pinches of ground cumin

4 green cardamom pods (bashed, husks discarded and seeds crushed)

    A good pinch ground corriander

    A good pinch allspice

    Handful fresh corriander

    2 tbsp low fat yoghurt

    400g course lamb mince

    1 small egg white

    a little olive oil

Mix everything but the lamb and egg together. Season. The add the lamb and egg white and mix together. Shape into 4 patties, do not compress too hard as it makes them tough. Refrigerate for 30 minutes, no longer as the yoghurt breaks down the meat. Cook for 3 minutes a side and then alternate for a further 5-6 minutes. Lamb burger. Done.

I make a Greek lamb pie similar to this

https://www.food.com/recipe/greek-lamb-pie-20073 but add cubes of feta. As long as you've drained all the fat off when cooking the mince it's also nice cold
