Movitation needed to lose weight

RLB, 23 September, 2013 at 10:10 Posted on Beauty & Wellbeing 0 5

I really want to lose weight - I'm being remeasured on November 6th to order my dress. I organised that so I could lose weight and hopefully a smaller size could be ordered, but since 27th July, my plan has actually gone totally wrong, and When I weighed this morning I've actually put on about 4lb.

I need to find my motivation, or a weight loss plan that I'll stick to (actually probably both!). I think part of what is holding me back is that part of the problem is my boobs meant I was a size bigger than the size for the rest of my body when I was measured in July. I'm a size 20 to 22 anyway so I was never expecting a small dress, but when I found out in wedding dress sizes I was a 28 I was quite upset.

Any tips for getting myself back on track? Which diets have people found easy to stick to?

Hi ya, I struggled too to start with, I've found writing down everything I eat is really helpful so I know exactly how much I've eaten, I also bought a pedometer as I'm not the sort to be found in the gym so I try to do 10,000 steps a day as well as toning workouts at home a few times a week . I have a real sweet tooth so I've replaced chocolate with fruit but I don't completely deny myself things because I find its all I think about. If you decide you want to work out, see if a friend or the OH will join you and invest in an excellent sports bra!!! The main thing to remember is if you have a bad day its just one day start again tomorrow, its all about changing your mind set your body can do what you want it to 99 times out of 100 but your mind will tell you it can't. Try joining groups like Fitspiration on Facebook they'll give you motivational stories and you can see other peoples success. Best of luck!

Thank you! Luckily, I've got myself back on track the last few days. I finally got it back into my head that eating rubbish and planning to lose weight and get in shape isn't going to actually make it happen! I'm now back onto my healthy eating plan and have got to the gym everyday since Monday (there is a ladies only section and I usually only use the bike. I've also started doing Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred - I am totally useless at it and it leaves me knackered, but, as it's a DVD, I have no excuses not to do it.

I'll have a look at the Facebook pade, it sounds like it could be helpful.

Cook everything from scratch. The only way to know exactly what you're consuming. Weigh out pasta or rice so you know it's no more than a portion. Bulk out meals like spag Bol, chilli, enchiladas, Thai curry etc with lots of veg. Snack on plain nuts and dried fruit. Nuts have a high fat content but are good fats and contain slow release carbs which keeps you fuller for longer. A bar of chocolate is a quick sugar rush but drops again quickly leaving you wanting more. Also drink lots of water. Water helps metabolism but also helps keep you full and flushes toxins away.

Nutria check do an app that's pretty good. Everything you eat you log on it, 1 dairylea triangle, 2 Jacobs crackers etc etc. tells you how many more calories you can have that day. really good

    Hi guys,

Thanks for the help and suggestions. I've been doing fairly well the last couple of weeks. I went slightly off track today and yesterday but I think that was because I did a 5km a Race for Life on Saturday and didn't allow myself enough to cover that. Unlike other times I've fallen off the wagon, I allowed myself a bit more for lunch but didn't have chocolate, crisps or other bad stuff, and have got straight back on track afterwards.

9 days to go before I get measured for my dress, I just hope I've lost enough off my chest to get the size down.
